I made an attempt at a 4.25" 12.9 bolt for SS9.  Got it about 20 degrees.  I think my hand position was a little off, as I was bending it over my pointer finger, which was killing it.  Don't think I could've gotten much further.  A few minutes afterwards, I wrapped up a Red Nail and it melted.  Crazy how hard these shorter bars are.  Hand were too messed up to do much with the LP0 shoe.

Made another SS9 attempt at a 4.5" 12.9 bolt.  Way harder than the 4.75" one.  I do not think I am positioning my hands in a good way with the shorter stuff, as I am destroying my pointer fingers while trying to bend the bar over them.  I was only able to get one of the 8mm bars and will be making an attempt at it soon.

I have always done conventional deadlifts raw, but think I'm going to start doing heavier attempts with briefs, as I've been feeling too beat-up the past year-or-so.  At least with briefs, it's not as bad.  The biggest issue with them for me is it's tough getting into proper position off the floor when pulling conventional.  Just need more work in them.

I made my last attempt at Steel Shredder 9.  David Horne was nice enough to give me one of his extra 8mm bars, as by the time I made my order, they were all gone.  So I waited to make this attempt until the end.  Prior to this comp, my experience with short, braced bending was very limited.  But, after getting some work in the past few weeks, things started to improve-slowly.  Not quite there yet with the short 8mm bar.  My hands feeling wrecked didn't help things either.  I wish I would have made an order earlier-on in the competition for 8mm stock, as I think it would've been different had I spent some time with a few of these bars.  Congrats to everyone who bent these cut-down shorter.  Tough bends!
