Other Training Info: Muscle Control, weights, and kettlebells Acknowledgements: Just want to give thanks to all the people who helped out. How did you get into grip training? I ripped a phonebook in half, since then, I have never looked back. You are now a GripBoard Mash Monster, what would you recommend to those aspiring to close this gripper? Work on mms style closes only. What does your current grip routine look like? My current workouts for grip are based in part from KTA and RRBT programs, I know now that my body cannot handle such high demands from either programs, but taking concepts from both and morphing it into something I can handle has helped. I work grip only 3 days a week; day one works only negative movements on the pops gripper, secret weapon and the Silver Bullet, interchanging each movement until I reach a total of 4 or 5 sets each hand. Day two of grip is worked solely on hand grippers or an adjustable hand gripper with a focus on high reps, I will do the movements until I reach a total of 50 or 100 reps each hand. Day three, I back everything down and just take it very easy on everything. What are your favorite grip exercises? Negatives performed on grip machines and hub lifting. What are some of your personal bests in grip exercises? Repping a 3.5 gripper, closing a 179lb rated gripper, lifting a 50lb blob, bending a Red Nail, lifting 81 lbs on the Sorinex Hub. What do you believe is the most common mistake made by new grip trainees? Overtraining and not listening to your body when it needs to rest. Do you have any parting advice for readers? Experiment with your workouts, find what does and does not work for you. Never be content with what you have done; find ways to incorporate new ideas into your personal training methods and always experiment with it.
