A Little Advice

Hi,

I'm new here and basically want to improve my grip for the purpose of deadlifting and also rugby (I'm from the UK). Apart from weighted hangs and static holds what else can I do? I'm not bothered about an insanely strong grip, just one strong enough so my weak point on my deadlift is my back/legs rather than my grip (as it is at the moment). Also the stronger you can grip a rugby ball the better :)

Cheers, Gehan

I love deadlifting, and have never had grip trouble, but found that static overhand holds helped to make my grip feel even more solid.

I think training some heavy duty grippers would do wonders for holding the rugby ball, as would pinching two plates together with the smooth side out, to build your thumb strength.

For more of the specifics, you'll find this the Gripboard to be a goldmine of information. Keep us posted on your progress.
