So it turns out...not only was I doing them wrong...but I was going out of my way to do them wrong. I recently watched a video by Jedd on these and apparently in an effort to fully engage my lats in this exercise, I was really playing with fire with my shoulders. I was really using an exaggerated full range motion(on purpose). Since I'm in no great rush to injure myself, I am backing the weight down slightly to make sure I am using the recommended range of motion. Lil' shoutout TY to Napalm.

Well...today's squat session was quite the eyeopener.

At this point, I literally starting heaving and my stomach kinda turned over. I decided to drop the weight slightly.

At this point...a couple of oz's of coffee came up and projectile vomited as I finished my last one. Additionally, I tweaked/pulled something in my right quadracep on that last one (since then, stairs have been navigable, but a little painful). I decided to call it a day on squats. You see, back in the day (youth), I would have thought that vomiting from effort was a good thing, since I'm working very hard.

Now however, the fact that I am using very low weight (for squats), for low reps (at that point), combined with the heart condition, I'm thinking maybe my heart is trying to tell me to back off. So next week I'm gonna drop back to 80 (40x2) and see how that goes. I'm pretty unhappy about this, but again, I'm not looking to drop dead any time soon.

I'm a bit concerned about how I'm feeling.

I was feeling a little funny yesterday...that and several weeping torn off blisters convinced me to take the day off.

While dehydration could be a factor, I'm pretty sure it's not the major one.

I'm going to cut Tuesdays out of the mix and spread the missing work between Mon and Wed...with Wed absorbing the majority.

The new breakdown will be Monday (TSG,General Work Out), Wednesday (Pinch, WR), Thursday (V2,General Work Out).

I'm hoping the extra day of rest will help me maximize my effort/results.

Depending on how overtrained you feel tailor a plan for it. Sometimes just doing full body work is all you need. The hands get a little bit of active recovery and you still get to workout, feeling the steel and all. Maybe toss is hand specific active recovery for a couple weeks. Or just change up the grip focus. Sometimes doing something else is all one needs. As you can see recovery is not easy to master.

I will be employing a Choked #3.5 starting at 5/8" to work on that last little bit.

Additionally, I'll be spending more time on blob work as recommended by Eric Godfrey (aka bender).

10 x3(touch...regrip and go...alternate hands between triples) L + R (PR)

5 L + R singles holds (2-6 seconds a piece...one righty outlier at 10 sec :yikes )

Frankly the whole Blob session was a PR...65 lifts in like 10-15 min. Didn't track the time exactly.

I was dripping all over the blob and constantly rechalking...but the dammit...it kept going up.

I don't get it...some day's I can barely hop the bitch...today, I owned her.

While it's true I took an entire week off prior to last nights workout...I think this is also some weird example of CNS firing on all cylinders.

It's funny, I'm happier about this WO than my first #3 close.

After my #3 Cert...I'm going to really dive into blob work...see what I can see.
