Can this be compared with Dynamometer Baseline?

this man from Germany must be an animal! because he has brought it to 136kg without training.

Guys, what do these baseline squeezes have to do with Silverback?

nothing you have seen only very briefly

Up and comers take note, if you can cert something do it. You never know if that moment will pass or an injury could sideline you. One can still be the first to cert the #4 and it doesn't take away from that if you tic off certs along the way.

I was going to say that earlier this morning. You never know what can happen to you. As is, Silverback had more rapid improvements than just about anyone, ever. If he drops out now, which he could, he will be an Urban Legend, as opposed to perhaps a 3.5 Cert fellow AND an Urban Legend.

I see what you guys are saying. But certing on anything other then a #4 might be beneath this guy. His video's showed that he WAS that good.

Would Daniel be posting the same stuff down in the strength thread about the crazy bencher Eric Spoto? Benching 600 x 6 raw even though he holds no state, national, or world records. I think Eric has the same goal... to be the best ever. Nothing less. Same goes for Silverback. It was the #4 or nothing.

But yeah, I do think we have an urban legend in the making. :)

Well knowing myself that injury can pull you out at any time and with the level of strength he was displaying the risk is obviously higher IMO for getting injured it is too bad he did not cert the 3.5. Hopefully it is just a palm bruise...that's what it sounds like. If it is, he will be back for sure and hopefully he will go ahead and do the 3.5 first.

Yes it didn't. Made it clear as crystal covered in mud.

Three plus years ago, I was one-half of a millimeter off with Randy as my witness on a Number 3 Certification. I worked for 4 months on almost nothing but grippers after that. Then, I purchased a Number 4 (rated over 220 lbs) and bruised my palm after two workouts of negatives. It took a couple of months to heal, which still blows my mind that it can happen that easily. And, three and one-half years later, I am still not where I was then. Because I am older, it made me a little "gun shy" with the real intense work, which is why I am not where I was.

I hope he does come back, as his story is one of the best that I have seen. But a bruised palm, as painful as it is, with rest, will heal all by itself with no adverse consequences, "Go see a doctor" is what the official line should be. Myself, I would be concerned he (or the lady doctor) would put me in a mental ward if I told him/her what I was doing. But if it is not significantly better soon, he/you probably should go to one.

So he was #4 RH...why not cert #3.5 or at least a #3 LH? He also claimed to be bending red nails...

Legendofjd, he is a video guy, nothing more at the moment. If we never see him again that is all people will remember, if that. Being the greatest unconfirmed man alive means jack. Fact.

Look people, I wish his strength to be real too. But the reality is we don't know. I find it comical how all of a sudden Silverback can do anything he wants and gets praise but the rest of the world is a put up or shut up place. Y'all are letting your fantasies interfere with reality. It's ok to hope for the best but don't throw common sense to the wind.

In terms of lifting, I sort of grew up with competitive lifting. Youtube superstars, of all strength levels, do not impress me as much as a strong competitive performances, Granted the gripworld is small, but in my time I have met enough people that I can get a reliable account of events from someone I trust. There are a few people I have never met whose word I would trust- Horne, Paul Knight, and Eric Milfield come to mind, but they have interacted with enough people in our small community so that if they were full of shit it would have been exposed by now.

BTW, my personal favorite grip stud doesn't even have an internet video self posted anywhere.

Get well Euclides. Would love to see you at MGC.

I think the bottom line here is anytime someone is doing something amazing and beyond what nearly anyone else in the world is doing (especially in such a short time frame) either warranted or not, suspicion will arise. This is not unique to silverback- take any athlete or feat anywhere, if its incredible in sports or unusual there will be doubts and questions (steroids, was it official etc etc etc)

It is why contests are important and monitored and considered official. Its part of what brought about the MM certs. Without strict rules and criteria honesty will not always be present. Again Im not saying any of this has merrit or truth for Silverback, just saying it will happen.

That said, I do hope every close of his is genuine, that his injury heals and that he returns stronger than ever. I was cheering for him, enjoyed his videos and am always enthusiastic about big closes and taking this sport higher.

Has anyone personally witnessed Silverback perform any of these alleged gripper feats?

Very simple question!

If you have, give some specifics please.

Me personally, I smell a RAT and I have from the beginning. Been around too long

to be fooled easily. So have a few others on this board.

If I show a #4 close on video under the same conditions Silverback has will I get the same

praise and WOW! No thanks!

If it ain't legit, then it ain't sh#$!!!

Also, if Bill will allow it I will demonstrate on video for the GB how easily a big gripper close can be faked at

my own expense (the cost of the grippers). I really don't want to do this due to the fact that I promise you

others will duplicate it for the sake of YouTube Fame.

I know people want to believe that a GHP9 can be conquered in under 6 weeks from a GHP8. This time I'll let someone

else do the math.

I'm all about helping others if I can and giving positive encouragement BUT if I believe someone is trying to

get credit for something that they haven't done then I will speak up loud and clear. Just think of what it took

for individuals like Paul, Chad, Tim, and others to accomplish what they have for someone to come along and

try and pull the wool over our eyes? That makes me angry folks! Sorry! This guy hasn't proven a darn thing in my book

and my book has strict rules.

Bring on the haters too but bring some standing evidence for Silverback with you!

Can someone please tell me how I can post a picture from my desktop? I have a picture that will prove Mighty Joe is correct without him having to destroy one of his grippers.

I think you guys will want to see this.

Thanks.

Alright screw the picture.

I have figured out how to remove the handles from a CoC gripper without otherwise damaging the gripper.

It is actually a very simple procedure that anyone can do, no special equipment is required. It would be a simple matter to remove the handles from a 3.5 and mount them on a spring from a 2.

You could then post videos of yourself CCS a "3.5" with ease, as long as you kept the spring hidden from the camera's view.

If you want to see the picture of my CoC #1 with handles removed, let me know how and I will post it.

Hm...guys..what are we talking about...we will never know if he is false or not...me for myself, I concentrate on training. It's a nice and still clean sport, griptraining, and we should keep it that way.

There will always be people trying to fool others (and themselves). No saying Euclides does that by the way. Frankly, I don't care. His videos kept me sharp and with my eyes on the target

I understand what you mean Mighty Joe and where your feelings come from. But I wouldn't waste to much time on the matter! There are a lot of strong people around here that we know are certainly for

real and therefore we know what goals are realistic and achievable. We all need them for motivation.

Not speaking up (chiming in) and defending himself is glaring!

You have to ask, what would be normal human behavior if this guy was legit?

Lastly, if this is not worthy of discussion I'm sorry that evidence of such feats means nothing to you.

To some people it's an important topic for obvious reasons! Honesty and integrity! Ever hear of those words?

It's worthy of something to sit there and type a list an hour long just to make fun and sneer.

Silverback, I know you're reading this. People like yourself will do this. I'm asking you to

COME CLEAN! it's not fair to those that are legit and care.

Adding one to the list:

41. Did you know that honesty and integrity are very worthy attributes to posses?
