I believe we'll see more from Sl-ghi Choi, he completely dominated that gripper on the second rep.

Taichi Morodomi from Japan...it looks like a race between him and SI-ghi Choi to be the next man to close the Level 8 for 3 reps!

Valery Tolstyh from Russia makes a huge entry into the GHP Gripper Challenge, smashing the GHP Level 8 for 3 and nearly 4 reps!

This ties Valery for 3rd place overall with Christian Loewe from Germany. See full results of the GHP Gripper Challenge here http://www.gillinghamhp.com/challenge

Jay Smith and Valery Tolstyh have been battling the GHP Level 8 for 4 reps. They've submitted multiple videos in the past week before finally getting one passed. It's amazing they have this much endurance and as you can see from the videos they have more left in the tank when the polish up their technique and get some rest. Jay and Val now are in a 3 way tie for 2nd place with Jon Vogt. The top 4 competitors in the GHP Gripper Challenge are all from different countries and overall we have 14 countries represented. The challenge is hot this year with 5 entries (doesn't count multiple efforts from the same guy) and all of them a GHP 8 or higher. See full results and videos from Jay and Valery at the GHP Gripper Challenge page http://www.gillinghamhp.com/challenge

Valery Tolstyh continues to tear up the GHP Gripper Challenge. He's now moved up to the number 2 spot with 5 reps on the Level 8 and nearly completing 6. Will he become the second person in the world to close the GHP Level 9?

Congrats to Graeme Bryce for becoming the first New Zealander to successfully enter the GHP Gripper Challenge...and in a big way. It's great to see the close happen right out of the package.

China is in the GHP Gripper Challenge and it's our first teenager. 16 year old Yang Qianchen destroys a GHP 7 for 6 reps. This is world class gripping and from a 16yo?...wow!

Valery Tolstyh from Russia has done it, becoming the second man in the world to close a GHP Level 9 under strict rules. We have seen two separate videos from him repeating the close. This is undoubtedly the strongest crusher on the scene right now. Congrats Val!

What is amazing is I think it wasn't finally fully shut until right towards the end of the video. He just keep squeezing and humpin!

And, at 16?  I think he is the strongest teen of all time with respect to grippers?
