Chez
Great work dude. Congrats on the 5. Thanks Jon. This was a tough one and I'm really happy I was able to get it done. Tonight I did some light back work. Inverted Rows Body weight = 3 sets of 10 reps Assisted Pull Ups 3 sets of 10 reps 1 Arm Dumbbell Bent Over Rows 61.5 lb DB = 3 sets of 20 reps each arm Note: Some people have asked me to explain how I train grippers. Writing it out every time is kind of a pain and its difficult to really explain it that way so I made a video where I talk about. Its long and probably very boring. I hope it helps someones. Here it is:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHQdtyoiR08 Tomorrow I'm getting ankle surgery. I found a doctor who specializes in a less invasive procedure to fix what is going on with my left ankle. The recovery will be much easier and quicker than the previous route I was going to try. Even though its less invasive I'm still nervous. I hope everything goes well and I make a full recovery quickly. Fingers crossed. Edited December 10, 2013 by Chez

Chez
Thanks Guys! The surgery wasn't bad at all. I felt no pain and I still feel no pain. It was a quick 20 minute procedure. I have pain pills but I don't take them. I'm using crutches to get around the house right now. I trained pinch and wrist yesterday and I'm training grippers tonight. I was bored so I decided to have a little fun. Captain of Crush #3.5 destroyed while sitting on my bed after surgery: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBViB2jyGTg I'll list yesterday's workout and tonight's workout tomorrow since I'm too lazy right now. Chez
Amazing easy close buddy! And happy your surgery went well . Get well soon friend. Thanks bro. I have been working out the last 3 days. The workouts aren't as intense and I have to work around my foot but at least I'm doing something. Pretty much everything has to be done sitting down. I'm not happy if I'm not doing at least some form of physical training. Hopefully I can maintain my hand strength while I heal up. Here are the workouts from the last couple days: Thursday - Wrist and Pinch 2 inch thick handle lever bar Supination/Pronation (Weight includes weight of the bar) 8.5 lbs = 3 sets of 10 reps each hand Lever bar facing forward and levering up and down 9.75 lbs = 3 sets of 10 reps each hand Lever bar facing backward and levering up and down 9.75 lbs right hand and 8.5 lbs left hand = 3 sets of 10 reps each hand Sorinex grip machine 2 hand pinches (tips of fingers and thumbs on the handles)- really cool piece of equipment that I just got. Working 179.7 lb COC #3.5 = 2 reps. Felt pretty good considering I had to do it sitting down. But I want to drop down and make this workout less intense. 176.05 lb MM3 Replica = 3 sets of 2 reps 165 .03 lb BBE = 5 reps. Too easy 171.5 lb BBE = 3 reps Sorinex Grip Machine Crush Booster (like a secret weapon built into the machine) Red + Purple band = 10 second hold, 20 second hold, 20 second hold. - Just experimenting with it. Chez
can you still do leg curls and ext? get at least some leg work. any upper body work at all will help out with maintaining strength. injuries are complete crap. I can definitely do leg curls and exts. Those will be my go to lower body movements for the next couple months but unfortunately I don't have access to those machines right now. As soon I can easily walk around, I plan to join a cheap gym in the area so I can use those machines. The great news is that I'm walking even better today. I even went up the stairs to the second floor of my house! I'm progressing nicely. Tonight I did a real quick back, biceps and thick bar workout. 1 Arm Bent Over Dumbbell Rows with Fat Gripz 53 lb DB = 4 sets of 20 reps each hand - this was pretty awkward on the side with the bad foot since I couldn't plant it as firmly for support. I had to modify my stance. I'll rearrange the room next time to get more resistance. Rear Bent Over Dumbbell Laterals 16.5 lb DBs = 3 sets of 12 reps Tomorrow: Grippers! I get to do them while standing now! Can't wait. If I feel good I may attempt a PR.

Chez
I was pretty tired today, but I forced myself to get a workout in. I just have to be patient and do whatever I can in the meantime. Merry Christmas everyone.

Chez
Wow bro thats a beast! You ever gonna get back into bending bro? Yep, I plan on coming back to bending. I actually bent a few red nails on Christmas Eve in front of some family members. I plan on only bending light with heavier pads until I cert the COC #3.5. After that gripper cert, there are some FBBC certs I want to chase. I have a tough time going all out on grippers and bending at the same time. It just burns me out. I have so many goals that I find it best to really focus on one for two for a couple months and then switch. I feel like I'm getting close the 3.5 cert so I'm focusing on grippers right now.

Chez
Some pinch work today. First time doing a workout standing up since the surgery. 1 Hand Pinch Euro 55 lbs = 5 reps each hand 65 lbs = 3 reps each hand 70 lbs = 3 reps each hand 72.5 lbs = 3 reps each hand 75 lbs = 3 reps each hand Blobs 38 lb = 5 lifts each hand 46 lb = 3 lifts each hand 50 lb = 3 lifts left hand and 2 lifts right hand. I just got this blob a couple weeks ago but really haven't used it much because of the surgery. Prior to this, I had to go to another person's house for a training session or comp to try a 50 lb blob. Its nice having my own now. Here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-mA34hOcHM 46 lb = 3 lifts each hand 46 lb = 3 lifts each hand IM Hub 42 lbs = 3 sets of 3 reps each hand Sorinex Pop's Grip machine dynamic pinch (finger tips and thumb tips on the bars) Blue bands across the bottom pegs = 4 sets of 10 reps both hands at same time. Chez
that's some pretty strong blob work, alternating hands like that. Thanks Brent. I'm really trying hard to bring up my pinch, thick bar and wrist strength. Its probably always going to be below my crush strength but I'm trying to close the gap. How tough are the blue bands on the machine? I've been thinking about picking some up for dynamic work. What I noticed is the bands that come with the Pop's grip machine are standard 12 inch power lifting bands that you can get from rogue also. I have 3 sets from rogue and they are exactly the same. The the blue bands are from rogue and are harder than the sorinex red bands but lighter than the purple bands from sorinex. The sorinex purple bands are the same as rogue's green bands. The blue bands from rouge are rated at 50 lbs and the green rogue bands are rated at 65 lbs: http://www.roguefitness.com/rogue-shorty-monster-bands.php
