Hey Royz. Ya, I ruptured my A2 pulley. Normally doctors recommend conservative management for a single pulley rupture but this one off totally so it wasn’t going to heal.

Oh that sucks. I partially ruptured my A2 pulley with a fingertip lift once too. I wouldn't recommend just jumping into fingertip lifts to anyone. Really a lift one should build up very slowly...

Definitely learning from this. I’m sticking to the basics when I come back. Just crush, pinch, thickbar and wrist work. No more of these other type lifts. I’ll I can do now is work my ass off to come back better

That partially ruptured A2 pulley took me about 3 months to come back from, but I was and am nowhere near your level. An operated pulley will take more time probably? Best of luck Chez. I'm sure you will succeed!

Just saw the doctor for another follow up. Really glad I picked this guy. He really understands the force I put in my hands through training so he’s treating me like a strength athlete and not some ordinary couch potato. He wasn’t happy with the brace so he sent me to another hand therapist to have it made.

The new brace for the day and the blue was altered for night. Starting to feel like Han from Enter the Dragon.

Feeling a little sick today. Forgot to log Wednesday’s workout because I got back from the gym late and then starting feeling sick. Here is what I did Wednesday:

everything with just the left side

Seated Machine Chest Press

10x, 8x, 6x, 4x, 3x, 10x, 10x, 10x

Incline Hammer Strength Chest Press

10x, 8x, 6x, 4x, 4x, 10x, 10x, 10x

Pec Deck Machine Flys

4 sets of 10x

Machine Curls

4 sets of 10x

Machine Triceps Extensions

4 sets of 10x

Dumbbell Preacher Hammer Curls

4 sets of 10x

Overhead Dumbbell Extensions

4 sets of 10x

Hyperextensions

4 sets of 10x

Ab Machine Crunches

4 sets of 30x

Recumbent Bike

10 mins

Note - hand is feeling much better. If I take it out of the brace I can use it for simple stuff like right now I’m typing with it. Can’t wait until I can use it for light lifting. Working the left has been helping keep atrophy to a min. Doctor told me the metal stitches come out next week and I’m really looking forward to that since they are annoying and stab the rest of my hand every now and then.

I was super sick this weekend so I couldn’t do my two planned workouts. Feeling better now so I’ll restart the cycle this week. The good news is that the doctor took the metal stitches out today. Now I have to concentrate on increasing my range of motion since my finger is stiff.

Thanks Joe. I worked on it all day yesterday and was able to get the finger fully closed. I was shocked by that. I thought that would have taken longer. Of course it’s stiff again this morning so I’ll have to work hard on it again today.

Not gonna lie, the scar looks pretty cool.

Haha. Thanks Tommy. Every time I show people my scars I feel like I’m in the movie Jaws where they are comparing scars and drinking.

Met up with my bud for a gym session tonight. Our first time lifting together since my surgery since he’s been busy studying for the CPA exam (I’m already a CPA and licensed attorney but I have to start studying for another license I want). Tonight I started doing some real light work with the right arm and it felt great to get some blood to that side:

Seated Machine Chest Press

Left Arm Only

10x, 8x, 6x, 4x, 4x, 8x, 8x, 8x

Seated Machine Close Grip Chest Press

Left Arm Only

10x, 8x, 6x, 4x, 4x, 8x, 8x, 8x

Machine Pec Deck Flys

Right and Left Arm

4 sets of 10x each arm

Incline Hammer Strength Press

Left Arm Only

8x, 5x, 5x, 8x

Hammer Strenth Shoulder Press

Left Arm Only

10x, 10x, 8x

Seated Machine Bicep Preacher Curls

Left and Right Arm

5 sets of 10x each arm

Seated Machine Triceps Extensions

Left and Right Arm

5 sets of 10x each arm

Notes - went real light with the right arm and wore my brace to make sure there was no load on the hand. Felt good to do something. This weekend I’ll start thumb work with both hands since it’s the only grip I can do right now. Maybe I can turn this into a positive and build some strong thumb strength while I wait to hit the other areas of grip.

Working on my range of motion with the finger before bed:

Doing my hand stretching excercies while watching tv and I’m really amazed how fast I’m progressing. Hand is looking and feeling better everyday. Stay the course and trust the process:

Quick back and abs workout tonight. I used my straps with hooks so I wouldn’t put any stress on the hands. Still went light with the right side though because the doc cut my wrist I’m two spots to take the tendon graft and the incision Marks are right where the straps wrap on my wrist. About half weight on the right side to be safe. First rows with the right arm since surgery though so I’m happy about that.

Hyperextensions

5 sets of 20x

Single Arm Machine Rows Horizontal Grip

Today makes it exactly one month from surgery: here is the comparison pic of today vs 4 days after surgery. Last night I was able to make a tight fist for the first time so it’s clming along well:
