Gave my Lighter MM3 Replica (176.05 lbs RGC) a shot MMS Off Hand tonight and I missed by literally the width of a piece of paper. That really stings. Would have been a nice PR Off Hand. Here is the attempt:

This goes down if I have someone film and do it on the weekend instead of a week day after a long day at work.

Great attempt chez! Have you thought about coming to nationals to just do the gripper event?

Chez-

Couldn't you find a wide gripper and take the handles off to use the adj handles on that spring? But it would have to be the right thickness.

thanks for the idea slaz works like a charm with my SM and Silvis triceratop
You're welcome!

Thanks guys. Really happy with surge my left hand is experiencing with grippers. I started to separate my right and left hand crush workouts and its really letting me focus on each hand. I want to cert the MM3 off Hand by year end.

Tom - I thought about going to nationals and doing every event except I would have to do a very light axle lift, but I hate driving that far and not being able to give 100%. I'm a competitor and I know I will be tempted to lift more than I should and risk injury. I'm also doing Jedd's comp in 2 weeks and my own in July. I decided not to go to Nationals this year and instead to focus on getting back to 100% health and making a come back at nationals next year.

That was a huge miss man. Weak hand. Your off hand for sure

haha, thanks buddy. I gotta make sure to keep my hands close. My right hand was starting to pull away too much.

I closed my Tetting Grand Elite today. The gripper rates at around 198 RGC. It took everything I have. My hand was all over the place and the handles touched for only a brief moment. I have video but I'll have to upload it in slow motion to show the close. I'm freaking tired. I don't have the energy to upload the video right now. Here is the best still I could get of the close:

Wow, closed. What a strong crush. I was watching an older video on YouTube the other day of someone's mm2 close, and there was a comment from you "I Hope to be on that list with you one day." And now look at you. Inspiring

Edit: had a few sips of morning coffee and my memory got stronger. It was Adam glass's mm2 vid

Thanks fellas. I just uploaded the video in slow motion. This is far from a dominating close. The handles touched for only a split second and came apart. My hand was at an angle and my thumb pad was blocking when I think I initially closed it. That moment would have given the best still. As my hand drifted back towards the camera I could only get the still above before the handles came apart. I'm still tired. Thank god this is a deload week.

Thanks guys. I appreciate it. I would have liked a dominating close, but this gripper is crazy hard. My set isn't nearly as strong as my crush so I had to give everything to set this to parallel. Took a lot of energy out of me. I really have to bring my set strength up.

I wonderwhat you could close in a choker!

Would be cool to try, but then I would worry about damaging my precious grippers. They are like my children :upsidedwn

Haha indeed. A little tape on the handles will protect them :)

Nice work. Videoing a gripper close is such an art form, eh Chez? Ha ha.

Definitely tough to film a max gripper attempt.

I have been training but running around so much that I haven't been able to keep the log updated. I'll find some time and update this week. I stopped by Nate's place yesterday for a mock competition/training session. I'll give more details about it when I update the log. John Manna brought his baby inch dumbbell by and I lifted it pretty easy with each hand in the middle of the comp. First time ever trying a baby inch, here is the video:

Thanks guys. I think I finally figured out a good thick bar program. It has lagged behind the other areas of my routine for too long.
