ianders1
climber511, Say, what's your home address, and when are you going to be out of town for a few days? Also, would it be hard to back a U-Haul truck into your driveway? Just kidding That's quite an inventory you've got there. How long has it taken you to build up such a great home gym? Also, you must be single or have a very understanding wife. My inventory: #1 Squeezer NYB Grip Machine ~100 lbs in misc. Oly plates Wrist roller Sand bucket 8lb sledge 12 bricks 25, 30, 35 lb block weights Dexterity balls Gold's Gym membership for the rest of the body Edited May 27, 2004 by ianders1
climber511
ianders1 Thanks, I started lifting (and buying stuff) in 1959. Where I live is a secret - especially to you now. And I do have a very understanding wife, who also trains some with me. I just started making all the homemade stuff about 2 years ago when I built a pole building in the back yard and moved out of the basement. I've got a friend who welds it all up for free as long as he can lift with me. Making the equipment has turned into a lot of fun , designing it, cutting and fitting it all together and welding it up to my own specs and then having more toys for much less money is great. It costs between 10% and 35% of retail to make up your own stuff depending on how complex it is and weather or not I can get the steel needed at the scrap yard or I have to buy it retail. And it has all the features and specs that I want, I don't have to settle for what I can find on the market. Making a power rack cost somewhat more due to the high cost of getting all the holes drilled at the machine shop so they would be perpectly aligned. I'm also retired now and have a lot of time. I also bought a lot of stuff used so I don't have nearly as much money in it as you might think.
