Guest todd_xxxx
Having recently reread some of the stuff by Pavel "The Evil Russian", I decided to try his method with my left (weaker) hand. The theory in essense is to do 1 rep, have a partner do 1, do 2 reps, have your partner do 2, etc, until one of you can't continue. Then you start at 1 again. Since I don't have a partner, rest times will be estimated. The idea is to stop a couple reps short of failure and then start at one again in order to use a very high number of reps but at submaximal intensities to avoid hampering recovery abilities. Since that is nearly the opposite of how I train now and my left hand seems to be in somewhat of a rut, I'm going to give this a try. I'll let you know how it works out. Guest Jeff Roark
Todd, What you were doing with the reps is called "ladders". It is a good method. Greasing the Groove, is doing a few reps at several different times through the day. Which method are you going to employ? I think "Greasing the Groove" would maybe be better, but let us know the results.
Guest
I'm going to try the ladder method. Only because its easier to log. Honestly though, the truer "greasing the groove" method is the way I closed the number two, and is similar (I believe) to the way Wannagrip has friends from work training. Using the ladder method of greasing is easier to log because you can track exactly how many reps you are doing without multiple workout log entries throughout the day.
