here's another vid from almost a year ago - it's a 154 #3, I don't have many TNS closes on video, so this will have to do for now

Awesome stuff Wade!!! :rock Were any of those grippers calibrated and do you happen to know the spread of the #3 you closed? If so, it can move you up the list potentially. Sick closes man!

The #3 is 3 inches, the #3.5 is 2 7/8. None of them are accurately calibrated but both are on the easier side. I have TNS'd a brand new #3 right out of the package after Rich Williams certified on it at the Arnold. I'm pretty sure Rich and Tex both saw it. This was a fairly stout 3 and had at least a 3" spread.

Yep, I am trying to certify on the 3.5 but some elbow, shoulder, and wrist problems have stalled my progress. If I can get back on track I think this is within my reach.

So if I can demonstrate a #2.5 CCS or TNS close then I can get on this list?

I been closing the #2.5 consistently with my right hand lately with a wide set, so I'll give this a try and make a video hopefully soon.

Wade, I think you can practically TNS any #3 given to you. The 3" spread #3's are rated at the range 150-155?

While the 2 7/8" #3's slightly below that (Most likely 145) ?

Have you been able to CCS your 3" #3.5's ? I think once you can close these consistently - you're ready for certification!

Okay made a video (it's bad quality) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bm49alKUX-Y

The #2.5 is the clearest from a certain angle about 50 seconds into the video after the close.

What kind of close would you say this is? Just wondering what it qualifies for - MMS or CCS?

I'll make another video with the Credit Card if needed.

I think the credit card is required for a credit card set :D

Definitely wider than MMS, but tough to tell from that angle if it is CCS or not. Try it with a credit card and angle the camera better. I find it works better if the camera is more off to the side than right in front of you. You own that thing. CCS should not be a problem.

I don't think CCS should be a problem for me.

Check out the WIDE reps on the #2:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YWweH0Pln0

Especially on the last rep, it's a TNS.

This video isn't recent, I believe I'm stronger now.

I'm probably the weakest guy posting in this topic, but what would you say got you guys strongest?

I think what worked for me best is doing Holds on a MAX gripper and Attempts on a slightly above MAX gripper.

I'm probably the weakest guy posting in this topic, but what would you say got you guys strongest?

I think what worked for me best is doing Holds on a MAX gripper and Attempts on a slightly above MAX gripper.

good stuff Danny! I don't think you will have any problem with the CCS on the 2.5. I think over crushes, BFNs on bigger grippers, and lots of near max singles helped me the most. The other really strong gripper guys on here would probably have better advice than this semi-newbie though. I know Teemu has had a lot of success with choker closes on bigger grippers. Widening the choker as he progresses. Everyone has their own way, the secret is finding out what works best for you. Great job. Let me know when you get the CCS on the 2.5 and I will add you to the list.
