Biometrics - Forearm To Wrist Size Vs. Gripper Closed

By popular demand, it looks like you guys think a Wrist and Forearm ratio would

be a better predictor of grip strength. So, here goes.

-------------------------FArm/Wrist----Wrist---FArm---Waist--Gripper Closed---Hand Size-----------------------

  1. Coc#3-----------------1.939-------8.25---16.00---????---?????
  2. HellMagic-------------1.885-------6.10---11.50---32.7---COC #2.5
  3. amaury----------------1.794-------6.80---12.20---31.5---COC #3(|| set)
  4. crobb1320-------------1.714-------7.00---12.00---31.0---COC #2-------------7.25
  5. dimmers---------------1.673-------6.88---11.50---????---COC #2
  6. spahn ranch-----------1.655-------7.40---12.25---????---COC #2.5(MMS)------8.25
  7. lone wolf-------------1.585-------7.81---12.38---????---COC #2
  8. vikingsrule92---------1.571-------7.00---11.00---31.0---COC #2
  9. The Writer------------?????-------????---14.00---36.0---HG 200(no set)

I will try to get some sort functionality into this asap. Maybe even figure out

how to real time it for the members to select their own. Don't know if

this programming is possible within the constraints of the BB software or not.

P.S. If waist size is given, let's use actual size not pant size.

Wrist: 7.4'' (measured about a 1/4 inch under my first crease in wrist)

Forearm: 12.4'' (measured with wrist cocked, but arm was layed straight out)

Waist size: 38''

Gripper closed: CoC #2 no set, or parallel set of an HG300 (rated about 2.4 by myself). You can choose whichever one at your own discretion, but if you don't want to then just choose the CoC #2 no set, so as to make a better comparison with everyone else.

Why not I'll add mine.

Wrist: 7.25"

Forearm: 13.0"

Waist: 43.5" (guess I'm the fattest guy here?)

Gripper: at the moment the best I can do is an RB240 with || set

Hand: 7.25"

For whatever their worth, I guess I'll add my numbers to the lot...

Hand Size: 7.19 (unfortunately I'm pretty sure I rounded up on this one :( )

Wrist Size: 6.75 (I'm assuming this is measured in between the hand and the wrist bone?)

Forearm Size: 12.5 (I did this with the hand unclenched [straight] and the forearm relaxed, is this how?)

Toughest Gripper: If it for toughest ever closed within the past year, then that would be #2.5. If it's for consistently/currently closing, then that would be #2. Pick whichever seems right and fair. I don't know if it matters or not, but I don't set my grippers (I'm just learning how and still kinda like the full sweep with one hand feel).

Waist: :blush ahem... I see more cardio in my future before this number comes out.

Wrist 7.5"

Forearm 14"

Ratio 1.867

Oh, and you tall guys can't use waist size alone to win the "fattest" crown. Though I admit Twig has me beat by long shot anyway...

Like a great man once said, it's not my fault I'm the biggest and the strongest; I don't even exercise!

Here's me! Hello.

Hand: 8"

Wrist: 7.5"

Forearm: 14.5"

Waist: Gimmie a break, I've only got a 12" ruler, I'm at work!

Heaviest Gripper: On a good day I can TNS my RB210, looking forward to seeing if I can do the same with Pete's

To jw7, yep, the straight forearm and non-clenched fist for consistency.

Getting folks to think about total fitness was the initial reason

to get these posts started. And everybody seems to like to see how

they stack up numbers wise, too.

sorry guys, I know this is off topic...

I bought a choker from PDA, but I don't have a vise, how can I get the gripper into the choker?

You're right. This is impressively off topic.

Too funny!!! Just squeeze it with two hands if needed and get it in the choker!

Hand- 7 and 3/4'' (steel tape, not paper)

Forearm- 14.25'' straight

Wrist- 8''

Waist- Around 35'' I think

Best gripper- Set/SE, NS/E

Ratio F to W- 1.78

Out of curiousity...

This thread was me wondering the following:

Are the dimensions of the forearms influenced more by the size of the wrist? Or is the upper arm the determining factor for "mazimum size"?

In other words, what actually (if anything) limits the amount of growth for the forearms? I understand that overal body mass is a determining factor, but I have seen (as I'm sure others have) guys with huge arms from shoulder to hand while not being overall large dudes. So is there something that will slow down those who are seeking bigger stronger forearms (like me :blush)? Or is it just a matter of training to break down the "wall"? Does a 2:1 barrier exist (I just read this in the above post, does this exist for non juiced dudes?)? Just got me thinking...

P.S. Sam's above mentioned ni 2:1 ratio (huge arms by the way :whacked ) started my thinking.
