Guest Bonzi
By popular demand, it looks like you guys think a Wrist and Forearm ratio would be a better predictor of grip strength. So, here goes. -------------------------FArm/Wrist----Wrist---FArm---Waist--Gripper Closed---Hand Size----------------------- Coc#3-----------------1.939-------8.25---16.00---????---????? Maybe even figure out how to real time it for the members to select their own. Don't know if this programming is possible within the constraints of the BB software or not. P.S. If waist size is given, let's use actual size not pant size. Edited August 13, 2007 by Bonzi
superfeemiman
Wrist: 7.4'' (measured about a 1/4 inch under my first crease in wrist) Forearm: 12.4'' (measured with wrist cocked, but arm was layed straight out) Waist size: 38'' Gripper closed: CoC #2 no set, or parallel set of an HG300 (rated about 2.4 by myself). You can choose whichever one at your own discretion, but if you don't want to then just choose the CoC #2 no set, so as to make a better comparison with everyone else. hab34buy
For whatever their worth, I guess I'll add my numbers to the lot... Hand Size: 7.19 (unfortunately I'm pretty sure I rounded up on this one ) Wrist Size: 6.75 (I'm assuming this is measured in between the hand and the wrist bone?) Forearm Size: 12.5 (I did this with the hand unclenched [straight] and the forearm relaxed, is this how?) Toughest Gripper: If it for toughest ever closed within the past year, then that would be #2.5. If it's for consistently/currently closing, then that would be #2. Pick whichever seems right and fair. I don't know if it matters or not, but I don't set my grippers (I'm just learning how and still kinda like the full sweep with one hand feel). Waist: ahem... I see more cardio in my future before this number comes out. ~Jw

amaury
Sam is very close to Joe Roark's famous 2:1 ratio (which only applies to drug free trainees i suppose)! Nice.
hab34buy
Out of curiousity... This thread was me wondering the following: Are the dimensions of the forearms influenced more by the size of the wrist? Or is the upper arm the determining factor for "mazimum size"? In other words, what actually (if anything) limits the amount of growth for the forearms? I understand that overal body mass is a determining factor, but I have seen (as I'm sure others have) guys with huge arms from shoulder to hand while not being overall large dudes. So is there something that will slow down those who are seeking bigger stronger forearms (like me )? Or is it just a matter of training to break down the "wall"? Does a 2:1 barrier exist (I just read this in the above post, does this exist for non juiced dudes?)? Just got me thinking... P.S. Sam's above mentioned ni 2:1 ratio (huge arms by the way ) started my thinking. Edited August 15, 2007 by jw7
