The Coin Challenge

I've only recently managed to close the #1. I use a quarter, not a penny, and I got 13 seconds. I used quarter holds on the trainer to work up to the #1. I think I did about 30 seconds with the trainer. I'll try again with a penny the next time I do a gripper workout.

I'm on lunch and bored. So I just did it with the #7 Tug instead. Did a TNS I&M close and held the penny for 15 seconds.

My hands are kinda sore today so I tried something easy: T with both hands for 1 minute each. Next week I'll try the #1.

Great way to tell you where you're at in your training.

Was only able to get 21 L and 24 R with a #1 in the middle of my grip WO.

Looks like I need to practice my strap holds with a little more diligence...

4 seconds with a #2 Left, nothing with the Right- I have a lot of work to do....bummer

Hi Guys,

Ewokhugo and myself have had a chat about adding a coin hold "hall of fame". For anybody that enjoys doing this coin hold it'll be nice to see how we all match up against each other.

Hugo will try and maintain the league positions so all you need to do is keep him posted with your top efforts.

Keep it up, these coin holds must be doing some good in the overcrush departments for all of us!! :rock

I've only been training with grippers for about 2 and a half months or so. I know plenty of progress has been made. Out of the package, the trainer was hard to close and the #1 just killed me. Now, neither of them are difficult and my best close is with a 1.5. I know many of you kick the hell out of the 1.5, but it's a step in the right direction.

My point to all of this is that the coin challenge has made it a lot of fun to work with my grippers. It absolutely irritates me when my holds are not better than they were on the previous attempts. So far, here is what I have.

#1

RH - 7 seconds

LH - 2 seconds sad.gif

T

RH - 32 seconds

LH - 24

Good Lord! It takes everything to keep the penny held in place. There is no such things as "just enough pressure" when it comes to the penny. Good luck to everyone in the challenge. I'm not a threat to most of you at the moment, but I'm working on it!!
