I wonder how accurate the weights were that odd lifted - were they all weighed? did they weigh exactly 454?

I was there. The weights were not calibrated. I think the axle was given credit for 34 pounds, with the balance being of plates.

Given Hubgeezer's info, the record will go to Andrew because his lift was calibrated.

Hell, if anyone disagrees, let me know. I was thinking about having a set amount to break the record by. Assuming all weights are calibrated, I would say it needs to be at least 1 pound.

Our weights were calibrated to the fraction of an ounce. As all should be if there is interest in a record.

Jedd,

I thought the weight was 455 and change. Either way I just pull more next time, but it looks like people are exchanging the axle deadlift for other things in the upcoming meets, or is gripmas having and axle?

Added Choker Grippers to the list. One hand deadlift might be added eventually, but I think it has only been in 2 contests so far.

Not a problem...it was with a normal set...not a choker.

Bob, the #4 closed at BBB1 was 190. The 195# Chad closed was mine, they're two different grippers. Also, didn't Chad close a 199 at the Woodall? I thought Mob closed a 205 but wasn't sure if he was eligible?

Also, I've done 275# on the MTGD on the 2" Vbar but the weights weren't calibrated. I see some names on the list that the results were done at contests where I know the weights weren't calibrated but I'm not sure if they were grandfathered in? See you in a few weeks!

thanks,

Josh

I "grandfathered" the old ones in, looks like BBB 07 is about the cutoff. I lost my MGC calibrations for all the lifters, but the weight was heavier than the announced weight. I am waiting on the calibration info for Lift at Jedd's.

Thanks for the gripper results. I will change those tonight, and might go back and add more if I can get the right numbers. Mobster won't make our list!

Damn Jedd, I was waiting on myself for now! I wanted to see if the Lift for Jedd numbers were calibrated or not. I haven't even asked you yet, my bad for implying otherwise!

Is there a particular "brand" or specs on a 2" V bar lift. We might want to include that event in our summer strong. Thanks RS

Richard,

Right now the FBBC one is the recognized brand. 2" of solid steel is typically used, non knurled. I forget the length, I can double check. If you wanted to make any of this equipment yourself, I don't think it would be a problem for records as long as it is up to specs. I

24" length for the vast majority of grip contests. Only the USAWA (that I'm aware of) uses a shorter (18") vbar.
