I don't care about losing my "record" as the idea of me being tied with Dave Morton on grippers is pretty laughable but didn't the SE that Chad closed come in at 188 and some change?

I'm curious about this question too.

The one he closed at the BBB came in at 188.5, and the adjustable SE I closed came in at 184.5 @ the 1/8" mount we used in the contest.

Shit, I will change it back. I thought I heard some different numbers. I was gonna ask about this.

No problem here...feel free to change it :rock

I would like to try that (BBB 2005 Morton #4) at some point and compare how it feels to the SE I closed at (BBB 3) and the SE (3.81) that I closed in Germany.

That #4 must be a beast that those guys closed at the (BBB 2005) :bow

A few updates. Getting a top 10 2"vbar list going. Expanding some lists here and there. A work in progress as always. Choker grippers are in my list to be added if they become more popular. I'd say one more contest with choker grippers in the next year and I will add a top 5 for them.

Booyah!!!

Yes, very nice job Bob, except it seems that you missed the posting of the Double Underhanded Bending Records. Double Underhand Bending has been around since about the start of the bending game and should be recognized. Posting these Records does not distract from meaningful American Records, because they ARE meaningful records and when Posted, someone WILL be trying to break them. Posting them Enhances this sport and promotes competition and growth.

I was curious to both Paul and my 2 inch v-bar lift of 250lbs, although it was not a comp specific recognized lift (it was our 5th ) it was preformed at the contest and I believe recognized on FBBC? Not a big deal just curious

Hey guys-

Booyah, I'm sending you a PM just to clear things up, I had some reasons.

opnsysme- So far I am only admitting lifts performed in the contest proper, I will pm Eric and discuss further.

No problem Bob, I do not want to open a can of worms or bend the rules or anything.. Whatever's clever :)

I have been following the powerlifting model, in that extra attempts only count for World or National records. I am always open for debate however.

Bear with me, this update is quick. Going to flesh out the hub list soon. I checked SoHGC results from the past, the DU bending was far below where everyone is at now. Will keep the list at 2 unless other big bends are brought to my attention.

Bob,

Not trying to pick holes, but how come on the 2" V-Bar you have Jedd and Scott tied for joint 5th (and no 6th, as per most lists I've seen) yet the top guys on Grippers are all joint 3rd, not joint 1st? (also Jedd, Anson, Scott & Dave are listed at joint 6th on the 1" V-Bar, when I would otherwise expect to see joint 3rd, plus the unbraced freestyle bending list....

Sorry If you have posted the rationale for this already.

Chris, most lists I've seen have placed a tied group at the place above. Look at David's lists for example. On the braced lists the people with 5/8" x 30" (a lot of people btw) are tied for 4th, not 9th. And the ones who have 32" are tied for 9th, not 10th. However I do think on grippers they should be tied for 1st, is this a mistake Bob? Or are you just placing them differently for some reason I'm not aware of?

Link to post
Bob Lipinski

Damn, I didn't notice that I did the two groups differently. I'll fix it and have the guys tied for the higher placing.

The reason the list is a mish-mash is because some are really old (1" vbar), whereas the top 10 2" vbar I just completely revamped.

Thanks for updating this list and it's nice to see my name on there. I have to point out though that my 276 lift at the KC Qualifier should be struck from the list since it was on a homemade 2" vbar. Just a piece of pipe, not the FBBC 2" vbar. But I'd still be on the list with a 270 lift at the MGC6. Figured that was only fair to point it out.

LOL, thanks Matt! I know 270 was a fluke that day, so I'll go higher on the list next year anyway.

Will 454.3938 pounds take the new record for the axle? Or must the new record break the old record by a given amount?
