Crush Strength For Aw

What do you feel is the most important kind of grip strength for armwrestling? Crushing? Pinch? Thick Bar? Combinations? Or just table time?

I lately began specialising on crushing strength only and I actually do feel my armwrestling grip has improved because of it. It is hard to "peak" at everything at once, crushing/pinch/thick bar etc etc.

What are your opinions about this?

Thickbar will get your hand used to squeezing hard in the somewhat opened hand position. Matter of fact doing thickbar hammer curls will work your grip and your backpressure at the same time.

if you add lots of preacher curls with a curl bar and lean over it some so you dont cheat when you get stuck flip up your wrist and pull more do these and reverse curls on the preacher and add dumbells to this and hammer curls to this will put you in a different bracket i also use to raise up the bench on an angel so i had to use all arm and wrist to curl the weight good luck in your training :D

Dan when you suggest a curl bar, are you talking about a EZ curl bar? and if you could, is it possible for you to email me with a routine mentioned above or post it plz?

yes i'm talking about the curl bar it has a slight vertical grip like when you are getting pinned :D and someone has turned your hand over and in this position you usually forget what you planed to do and just try to curl your arm back up . and don't spend time in the preacher bench in the up top resting position when your arm is stretched out thats the spot you need work the most and i cant remember what rocky movie it was where he was the champ and let himself go didn't train and thought he still had it but got soft and weak that happens so don't let up if you think sleep and eat training for what ever you want i think you will come out on top or at least the top 3 look at jed of diesel crew :D
