I should have started a workout log when i started my gripper quest. I think a little background is needed befor i get into my workout's. I am 24 and have been grip training since around Jan. 1 2002. Befor then the only workout type thing i did was BMX freestyle(a.k.a. Flatland), so that may have helped my grip a little.

Jan. 1 2002 I got my COC #1, and could not close it, was about 1 inch short. It took me 1 week to close it. And as of yesterday(Mar.9 2002) I could do a 32.5 straphold for 3 seconds.

Fed. 4 2002 I got my COC #2, and could not close it, was about two inches short. It took me untill Mar. 2 2002 to close it.

Warmed up with hot water and streching each finger and wrist.

COC #1  2 sets of 5 reps each hand

COC #2  3 closes right, 3 att left

COC #1  1 straphold with 32.5 pounds for 3 sec. right/ 2 holds with 30 pounds for 6 sec. right/ 2 holds with 15 for 6 sec. left.

COC #1  5 timed holds each hand( 30 sec. each with right)(20 sec. each left)

Thats it with the gripper's I ordered a BBM. It should be here in a week or so. I also work on pinch but not as much as gripper's. I can pinch 50 pounds for 10 seconds on my home made pinch block. As far as plate pinching i can hold 2 10's for 30 seconds each hand.I am going to buy 2 25's today so i can get a better workout.

 It's a new record, for me at least. I tryed my new 25 lb plate's today, and to my suprise I pinched them for 10 seconds right hand, 4 seconds left. This is the first time I have had 25's to try with. Befor today all i had was a home made pinch block(a.k.a. 4 inch pice of 2"x4"), two 10's , a 5, two 2.5 lb plates, and a 20 lb dumbbell.

  Ack i got into steel bending to day for the first time and I think ill keep on with it, but i think it hurt the rest of my workout. So from not on I will do bending at the end of my workout. But now that i think about it i did have a hard day yesterday, i stayed awake for 27 hours, and helped my mom move. O well on to the workout.

Nail bending

1  8 inch piece of 1/4 inch (HRS)

3  9 inch pieces of 1/4 inch (HRS)

Plate Pinching

1  15 second hold right handed with 25's

1  10 second hold left handed with 25's

1  30 second hold with both hands with 25's

2  30 second holds with both hands with 10's

Grippers

2  closes COC#2 right hand

3  att closes COC#2 both hands

1  strap hold with 25 pounds for 5 seconds right hand

1  strap hold with 25 pounds for 2 seconds with left

2  30 second timed holds COC#1 both hands

3  negatives COC#2 left hand

3  att closes COC#2 right hand

4  sets of 10 reps COC#1 both hands

I felt good today. I set a new PR on strapholds today. My BBM should be here next week.

Gripper's

1  set of 5 reps with COC#1 both hands

1  set of 5 reps with COC#2 right hand

1  set of 5 att with COC#2 left hand

1  straphold 35 pounds with COC#1 for 6 sec. right hand(PR)

1  straphold 25 pounds with COC#1 for 5 sec. left hand(PR)

1  set of timed holds with COC#1 (1 for 45 sec. and 30 sec. right)(2 for 30 sec. left)

3  sets of 5 reps with COC#1 with both hands

Plate pinching

1  12 sec. with 25's right hand

1  2 sec. with 25's left hand

2  1 min. with 10's each hand

I went easy today becouse my BBM will be here in the next day or 2, and i want to be at 100%.

Gripper's

4  sets of 10 reps with the COC#1

2  sets of 3 reps COC#2 right(att with left)

2  sets of 10 reps with COC#1

Thats my whole workout today. Im also going to start doing a workout like this every day + my normal workout every other day.

I got my BBM today,but i went easy today.

Grippers

3  sets of 10 reps with COC#1

3  sets of 5 reps with the BBM

2  sets of 3 reps right and 2 sets of att left

Thats about it for today.The BBM is about 85% as strong as my COC#2. The spring on my BBM is not set as deep in the handle as my COC#2. Also the handles on my #2 are 3/8 of an inch wider than my BBM. Owell when i get a COC#3 i will be able to tell more about how tuff my grippers are.

Felt good today, but my left hand hurts a bit so i took it easy on it with the grippers.

Pinch

3  10 sec. holds with 25's right hand

3  5 sec. holds with 25's left hand

pased 10's back and forth for 5 min.

Grippers

1  straphold with BBM 10 pounds for 2 sec. right hand

1  straphold with BBM 7.5 pounds for 8 sec. right hand

2  sets of 3 reps BBM left hand

1  straphold with COC#1 10 pounds left hand

3  timedholds with BBM for 10 sec. right hand

2  timedholds with COC#1 for 20 sec. left hand

3  sets of 5 reps BBM right hand

3  sets of 10 reps COC#1 right hand

 I have not posted for a few days becouse i am taking a week or so off from the grippers. All i am doing is my light workouts about every other day.

Grippers

3  sets of 10 with Sports store gripper both hands

1  set of 5 with BBM each hand

1  set of 1-3 COC#2 right hand

1  set of 1-3 att. COC#2 left hand

I also work with my COC#1 everyday. I do 5-10 reps every few hours. I will start hiting it really hard in about a week or less, that should be enuff time for me to rest up.

Keep in mind that my BBM is about 3/4 as strong as my COC#2. :blush

Its been a wile since i posted to my log. I took some time off, then i got a #3 and have been working out with it. 5-7 singes a day with my #3 is all I've dun for the last month or so. So far I've gotten the #3 down to 1/8 of an inch.

June 01

1 set of 20 rep's each hand with a sport's store gripper

1 set of 10 rep's each hand COC#1

1 set of 10 rep's each hand BBM

1 Att right hand too 1/8 of an inch COC#3

1 Att left  hand too parallel COC#3

1 set of 5 rep's right hand COC#2

1 set of 2 rep's left hand COC#2

1 strap hold right hand with 5lbs for 20 sec. BBM

1 strap hold right hand with 15lbs for 10 sec. BBM

1 strap hold left hand with 25lbs for 3 sec. COC#1

1 strap hold right hand with 20lbs for 3 sec. BBM

1 set of 20 rep's right hand COC#1

1 set of 50 rep's right hand Sports store gripper
