Dan Cenidoza
I'm looking to make a collar that will hold a gripper at parallel. There's a similar tool on the market but I'm thinking this could be done with just a simple flat piece of metal shaped like a "C" Has anybody made one of these before? Scott Styles
I just use a washer with a 2" diameter hole. The downside is it scuffs up the knurling at the top of the gripper and has to be held in place by the other hand.
Todd Kartchner
A hose clamp will allow you to set a gripper at whatever range you want.
Clay Edgin
Dan, http://www.castledarkmoor.com/strongman/HG/choker.jpg 1.5" inside diameter hole with a small notch filed in it that will hold a #4 at parallel and never slip off

foggymountainmuscle
I use a 2" diamter pipe nipple. Same knurling problems that scot talked about. This makes me feel more secure that it will not fly off than a hose clamp or washer would. The drawback is that unless you have it marked, you can easily forget which one is the dogleg if you set it down.
