pdoire
I intend to cert for the MM0 Mash Monster Level. I am currently PM'ing for witnesses a few folks don't live far away so I hope it won't be too difficult. Any tips or suggestions?? I've closed the #3 on webcam video and posted it. Clay Edgin
On the day of your certification, let the very first thought that comes to mind be that you will not fail today. The rest is just squeezing.* *...says the guy who attempted MM3 certification 3 times before finally getting it right... jad
If you can't find a witness maybe go to that grip contest you were thinking about just watching. I'm sure you can find one there. As far as the gripper, just make sure your comfortable with the parallel set or more importantly showing the parallel set on camera. Basically, don't start second guessing yourself on set depth on cert day and end up blowing it because you're trying it with a wider set-depth than your used to. Good luck buddy
pdoire
Could you see the set on my video well enough? ...did it look OK?
George Champlin
SQEEEEEZE that MM0 SHUT
capt. crushalot
Bring an easy gripper with you. That way you can take a practice run to make sure the video and set is ok. Slamming the easy gripper shut during the practice run will also help to get you pumped up and confident. Make sure your hands are somewhat warmed up first. This could mean running them under warm water for a couple of minutes and practicing some fast explosive clenches without a gripper. Whatever works for you. Tell yourself over and over: I can and I will slam it shut I can and I will slam it shut I can and I will slam it shut or I've got it, keep going I've got it, keep going I've got it, keep going or whatever fires you up. Imagine in your mind beforehand - the witness, the videotaping, the set and just absolutely destroying it. Imagine the witness then saying- Dang- Paul you absolutely killed that thing! Congratulations! All doubt and hesistation must checkout long before the actual attempt. You can do it! I believe in you! Let the annihilation begin. So grit your teeth, clench your fist and attack that gripper with the intensity of a raging bull and you will soon have another title behind your name-MMO! FrankyBoy
He Paul, the set cannot be seen without any doubt in your vid. Classic case of 'Setting hand blocking view'. But the parallel set isn't enforced for MM0. Focus on your close and ensure that the close (handles are shut) is clearly visible on the video. Train that with an easy gripper. Try to get a vertical view on the handles. Compare the following vid: #3-close Here I'm closing a #3 with the 'stop-and-go' set. Good luck with your cert, Paul. I'm sure, you'll get it. That day I closed it like 3 times...the first two times went off camera because my hand was shaking from the squeeze. The webcam has a very small area of focus, good equipment should help. Once I get the right stuff I will practice with an easy gripper
