Tuesday
Man on a mission today. Something I've waited, or so it seems, too long to happen has finally done so. So a bunch of 'dominoes' are set to fall and I've pushed it to start ha ha. Ergo yet another late session for me.
Two Hand Pinch

A little comment on Alan Radley and his quickly withdrawn (cos he broke the rules) ad for his dumbbell.

There's no such thing as 'THE Millennium Dumbbell'. There cannot be a THE'. Seven were made as was and one as a one off. All from the same 'pattern'. Alan's was the first. Mine the 2nd, one to my former South London buddy, one to Wag Bennet and the three that went to the US.   Mine is now with Bader, Wags is in a memorial plot as he died, lord knows what's happened to my former buddies and the others have been swapped so and so on. He mentioned the one picked up by Brian Shaw which, given the weight quoted in the video is almost certainly a replica.

Regarding the whole 'lift it level' BS. Sure a level lift is sweet and both Brian and Laine have come crazy close (Brian on a replica is, as far as I'm concerned, the level lift. It's just not an actual Millennium). I still have, baring in mind how much I lost leaving Gloucester and coming to Wales, the original challenge laminated poster we had made up. It states what was required. It was agreed between Alan and I and, to the best of my knowledge, Alan did Jack. His best efforts were, in essence, snatching at it in such as a way as to get the momentum to move it 2 inches onto a yellow pages. Indeed the challenge poster says as much.

It goes without saying that to move it is great, to pick up up tilted better, to pick it up level better still and to do two (as per Laine's efforts) a-fkin-mazing. But to, again in essence, flick the finger at 'it wasn't level' when he himself having owned one for 19 years and having agreed what makes a lift... c'mon. It's too easy to argue the rules, as others have done regarding many grip feats, but the rules were clear. There's an image of the poster in Gripopedia and I can, if need be, post one here.

Finally, cos I suspect that in spite of his being busy writing various books (sold on Amazon... the reviews are 'interesting') he's pretty much not being keeping himself up to date regarding the dumbbells and their history.

Tuesday
No chance of a lay in today. I had five new steel exterior doors arrive (for my home - a former club house) at 7.30am or so. A couple are seriously heavy and the rest just heavy ha ha. Even with a neighbor giving me a hand with the last two I was sweating - all before breakfast. It'll be a veritable Fort Knox when it's done (with luck next week). Then I had my builder over (I have a 'my builder' now lol) literally after I did 2 x 1 reps on the heavy set. So between rep 2 and rep 3 there was a 30 minute gap. But going all over the building kept me warmed up.
