  3. I had to admit that at my advanced age and with my various injuries, not to mention just medium-sized hands, that it isn't likely I'll ever be able to lift a full-weight Inch replica. So after a long search for baby Inches, I gave up trying to find one in the US, and I ordered a 66 kilo (mine weighs slightly more, about 146 pounds) from Gods of Grip in the UK. The dumbbell itself is just okay. The dimensions are spot on, but the handle is welded to the globes, and the weld makes getting a good grip harder than it should be, but the texture is pretty good. The service from Gods of Grip wasn't good. When they show the dumbbell to be "In Stock", that means that they have access to the components, but it still needs to be made and painted and shipped. They repeatedly underestimated how long it would take. I ordered it on 12/1/23, and didn't get it until 1/19/24, when I was originally told it would arrive before Christmas. I ordered a couple of the only other size (28 kilos) they had "In Stock" on 12/12/23. I finally got one of them on 2/7/24; Fedex lost the other one. I didn't get the refund for the lost one until 4/11/24. The owners seem like nice people, and they put on grip competitions and promote Grip Sport, which is good, but they constantly over-promised and under-delivered. If you order one of their baby Inch replicas, plan on being very, very patient. As this played out, a Grip board member posted about a guy in South Carolina who was starting to make baby Inch replicas! He (Zack Staniewicz) had a prototype with a 2-5/8" handle which I bought. The ones he will make in the future will have the 2-3/8" handle. He sent it out quickly and the quality, even on a prototype, was much better. It was cast in all one piece, so there are no welds on the handle. If I had known he was going to start making them, I never would have ordered the one from Gods of Grip. Zack will be making a few different sizes, and he is also making a handle and some rounded plates that will replicate the handle and rounded inside edges of an Inch, but it is plate-loaded. That should give the feel of a real Inch with the advantage of being able to adjust the weight, and I think he'll be selling those for less than $100. A much more affordable option for Inch Dumbbell training. I think he'll be making several sizes of the Inch replicas, including baby Inches, full-weight ones, and even heavier ones. Great to see that happening here in the US. He can be reached at 914-426-0764 or email zstan3@aol.com Domedude

  19. Well I was looking at it & thought I’d see what carriage was. Entered my details & normally it gives you a button to press but it just went straight through. Was going to buy one at some stage so it just rushed the process. Vert happy with it . 24/4/24 Hub worked up to 17.5k plate weight on rh. Forgot to write reps & sets down as I was tidying up The Zoo. Finally getting the place in shape. A few more bits coming & then I can sit back & enjoy my kit. Thinking I might even out in a little comp nxt yr.

  25. haha thanks! The camo is a piece of cordura, works well to clean off the excess chalk from blobs without wiping off too much Thanks! Would be great to lose a few kgs though Yes, the Standard Adjustable line was an incredible value for people like us who live outside the US. I'm glad I grabbed a Ti and a W when it was still available.

  28. Two days and wake up before Maryland's Strongest Hands. And I'm finding it difficult to take time away from grip training this week. For example, Tuesday I really wanted to take some grippers to work after the conversation I had at lunch on Monday...but it didn't seem like a good time for an informal demonstration/competition. And that night, we had the Scouts doing tug-of-war as one of our activities...but I skipped the "boys versus dads" rounds because I knew that rope would fry my hands. So I'm stuck mentally strategizing and visualizing my lifts. Not nearly as fun as actually lifting...

  29. Pull Day (yesterday) Kept it pretty chill partly since I didn’t want any deadlift recovery issues for Monday and partly because I spent my workout time cutting and grinding steel Started with a superset of pull-ups and stiff leg deadlifts with 203 lb kettlebell. Three rounds of 5 reps each. Then came inside and did meek swings, 50 reps normal and then two sets of 20 with my pinkies off the end. Last was a set of 12 each side with a 95 pound barbell row and that was all she wrote. Not a lot of weights lifted, but a lot of steel cut and grinded. I made an O-1 drill rod 7” barehand progression from C-K and cut thr bars for today and Mondays sessions plus a few random cuts I’d been meaning to get to!

  34. Monday It was meant to a Power Squat machine day but I changed the program just cos. Off to Powerhouse Gym with 380kg on the Hatfield Squat in mind. Hatfield Squat Faffed about finding the right position for the bench I squat too (might swap it for a flat bench when I'm at Powerhouse ) bar x 8 reps, 140kg/308lbs x 8 reps, 250kg/550lbs with the support belt on x 6 reps (PB), 300kg/660lbs with support belt, power belt and knee wraps on x 1 rep. Then 380kg/836lbs x 1 rep (belt etc on). Bit high. Leg Press No pad. 200kg/440lbs x 8 rteps, 400kg/880lbs x 8 reps (felt hard on the hamstrings but fine on next set with wraps on), 600kg/1320lbs x 8 reps Seated Leg Curls to stack (120kg/264lbs) + stacker plate x 12 reps Leg Extension faffed about a long time between sets so top weight felt hard) to stack x 12 reps

  36. Monday He came, he saw, he kicked b**t! I did all I needed to to prep for the Hatfield Squat. That included a double Ristretto before and another gratis gym coffee on arrival. My go to music playing as I walked to the gym and a little (2x) stretching Sunday. Hatfield Squat Bar x 8 reps, 140kg x 8 reps, 230kg x 6 reps (*support belt only), 350kg/770lbs x 1 (PB), 360kg/792lbs x 1 (PB) and 370-kg/814lbs x 1 (PB) rep. All heavy sets with the super duper new belt and Inzer red/black knee wraps (had a harder set of Cerberus Extreme wraps but didn't use them with me). To ensure no issues I was using a set of thin collars and hammered them tight. The only issues was worrying about the bar bending and it was harder to unrack than squat. I nearly went to 380kg/836lbs but called it a day. Little bit dizzy after. Leg Press Decided to forgo this Lying Leg Curls to 16p x 5 reps Leg Extensions to stack x 12 reps Bwt: 320lbs

  37. Yeah...it would be worth buying a replacement CoC #3 just to see one of my coworkers crush it and keep it.
    1 point
  38. If they close a #3 after they take their second hand off it, they should own it. Even if they start from 10mm, which I'm not certain they could get to pushing both hands like it's a Power Twister.
    1 point
  39. Yeah...our boss was like, can you close a 250 gripper? So he sounded familiar with them at least. I have an old light Heavy Grips 250 that's 105 RGC. Got pretty close to Table No Set with that one the other day when I was checking to see how much hand strength I lost in my right hand. So if he meant Heavy Grips 250 I'm probably ok. Was thinking about taking in a straight up IronMind set from a Guide to a #3. If any of them close the #3 without any training or experience, I'll buy them a beer and bring a #3.5 next time. hahaha Thanks John! It was hard to sit on the sidelines though... Maybe we'll have to do a rematch at a future Scout meeting so I can participate.

Not sure when the paper was added, but all mine that I was fortunate to get in the bag had the paper included. #1 with bag in mint condition although bag is not perfect. #3 with bag and literally never used! Trainer with bag also in mint condition. I didn't have scans of the paper on my computer but I would presume them to be the same was what Matt posted above.

  47. Going through this thread seemed interesting so I figured I’d drop the info on my collection. All my grippers were rated by CPW and I plan on sending in my new GG7 and Xinyi Wanja 450 to be rated soon. Not sure the Xinyi Wanja can be rated because it’s insanely heavy and I’m confident the heavier ones are over the 400lbs cutoff so they definitely can’t be. 48. Today and yesterday I tried my unrated #3, got it to around 10mm, but my 148lb grip genie was almost closed - that is super progress for me (holes are from choker, but I don’t like this GG in a choker idk why)
