  2. BikeErg (DF120) & seated DB snatches (up to 80x5). Good workout. DB snatches have been a staple for many years. Getting them (all versions) back into the rotation. Very powerful all around fitness and strength exercise.

  4. Started the day with some assorted upper body dumbbell lifts, then the voices in my head started saying that what I really wanted to do was try a barehand unbraced snap. Game Voices! So I tried it with a 1/4”x7” g2 bolt and after 17 minutes my left ring finger skin snapped with the bolt still firmly in one piece. Alas, I talked myself into thinking an hrs piece would be easier to snap, so I tried a Gods of Grip Gobannus Bar (1/4”x7” hrs), and it was easier and did get hot for a bit at least but after 7 minutes my right ring finger skin snapped and again the bar had not - both were kinked underhand opened face pull style and closed with normal chest crush. I’d take a pic of the bar and bolt but I threw them across the garage in disgust and don’t know where they are now The only lesson I think I learned was do the hrs before the bolt, as I fully plan on revisiting the barehand unbraced snap one of these days!!! After some hand TLC I did some assorted upper body FatBell lifts and then vanilla bench press. 315 felt slow af so I un-vanilla’d it and threw on a bench blockz to a four board and wrapped it up with 315 for 5 reps!

  6. You're doing it right, it should absolutely kill your core until you get used to it. Especially pushups.

  7. Very thorough explanation... Thanks! It's sad some of the great lengths some demented people will go to "prove themselves" in the world. I'm glad his name was removed from the IM 3.5 list at least.

  8. 20kg/44lb weighted pushups with pushup stands - 8x18 (8th set was 17 + 1) - 4x14 (4th set was 12 + 2) - 3x12 (3rd set was 11 + 1) - 3x10 (3rd set was 9 + 1, and I hit the floor like 3 times til I got that last rep) Triceps pushdown, black band - 8x18

  9. Hm, makes sense! I think strength might be an issue since I was having a tough time opening them, especially the bolt, but presumably I’ll get better at it so it’s definitely worth taking a shot at some 1/4” crs next time!!!

  12. Yes, he took Tough Ape chinese springs that look bright silver in color, and put those into ghp/coc handles. Because these are narrow 50 lb springs, to get the GHP spread measurement, he could have easily just bent the spring outwards just enough to be in the same specificiation range as he would have seen in other approved cert videos. He strategically only measured the spread before the close, and not after, which would have revealed how narrow the Tough Ape spring really was after it relapsed a bit from being bent outward I would figure. As far as spring coil diameter measurement, I'm not sure how thick those springs are but it wouldn't be the craziest thing in the world to figure out how to fudge either, or maybe they're similarly thick. He also usually used 2 hands to open the gripper and then get it away/hidden from camera as soon as possible to probably hide how much narrower the spring was after being closed (because he probably bent all these outward too to try to make them look like wide ghp/coc). Faking the GHP8, GHP9 and probably also GHP7 certs was basically just practice for faking the coc 3.5 cert, he did the same spring swap and duped people multiple times which probably gave him the confidence to fake a 3.5 cert as well, the only things he did additionally were to repackage the fake gripper into CoC packaging which dubya showed is not impossible to make look convincing, then what he got caught with was the amazon barcode UPC sticker on the pack of the package, which Ironmind used as evidence to show it was not the same gripper they sent him, and also the packing tape was crinkled showing the package had been opened and resealed with the same tape. I know for a fact it was tough ape springs as there is an instagram account (still active) which he and his friend were running, I know this for 100% fact because someone sent me voice clips coming from this account that were one million percent pasta man himself, before anyone knew who he was he was reaching out to elite gripsters to ask for advice about what kind of adjustable gripper they would want to buy as he claimed to have springs and handles and was planning to make grippers to sell, i believe he made an rgc machine too, but anyways this same instagram account has (and still has) pictures of coc grippers and tough ape grippers shown side by side in the same picture, the same account pasta man was sending voice messages from without revealing his name specifically on it. When he later started posting training videos, it was from a different account that was associated with his name. So there is cold hard evidence before he even tried to make a name for himself in training, he was taking apart, building grippers and modifying them which he purposely never mentioned anything of either publicly, or for example with me either, during the probably hundreds of DMs he sent me during the time I talked to him and then started giving him the slow fade once he started trying to fake being superhuman with his godly vegetarian strength from his magical programming I assume everything he has done is fake. I'd guess the springs he used for 3.5 and GHP9 type certs were probably like 200, 250 or 300 lb spring difficulty level which is not exactly godly to be able to close or even ccs, but with 3.5 or ghp8/ghp9 handles glued onto them he tricked people into thinking it was something impressive. Similarly in his fake coc 3.5 cert video he likely bent the spring to have a wider spread to fit in the coc packaging, or to make it look like a 3.5, then after his repeated closes you can tell the spring got significantly narrower after each close, i forget the figure but it was probably at least 1 cm+ narrower, to the point where the spring was barely opening up wide enough to be able to fit the credit card though it; you could see how relaxed his hands were as well. If he did 1 3.5 CCS and took the fake cert he probably would have had more trouble getting caught, but he got REALLY as greedy as possible and did a triple, then a double, to the point where the card could barely fit through the handles which is pretty typical for trying to do ccs with a 50 lb gripper And then there's all the fake blob and loading pin stuff, but I really only paid attention to the gripper stuff. 100% fake

  13. When you first started using the weighted vest did it kill your core? I am getting used to mine but man my core aches after and I haven't even really pushed hard with it yet.

  14. I'd be bummed about missing out too, it was a great entry level cert with an easy format where you got unlimited attempts, however it could have benefited from more strict rules as shown via pasta man conning it

  15. The only real reason to have an active cert process is for promotion of products to buy to use for it, & it's basically free advertising. With nothing for GHP to sell, any more cert judging/posting videos etc would all be volunteer work. They were already having trouble with keeping GHP profitable, so I don't see why they would want to do free work now, after the business closed due to not making enough money. There were people waiting upto 6 months to hear back about their cert attempts previously, that I'm aware of. I don't think with the company closed, the old cert system is going to be any more active than it was while the company was actually running and selling things.

  17. Nice work! If strength and pain is not an issue, HRS and soft bolts like the G2 are actually harder to snap (or at least, they take longer). Those are ductile and "just made to be bent"; they absorb more energy before fracture.

  18. A heads up that with the way sign-ups are coming along, I'll likely need to shut down registration ahead of schedule. We're currently up to 34 participants, and while the venue is great and we'll have the run of the place, it has just a single toilet. So I'll only be allowing a few more athletes. If you're qualified and have been sitting on the fence until now, the coming days would be a good time to make the call if participating in this elite contest is important to you.

  19. Yeah, I think this is right. The v1 and v2 both appear to be longer blocks, and the v3 that comes with the black caps is a shorter block. Based on GHP cert videos, it appears that the v3 black caps block materialized sometime in late 2020/early 2021 - around the same time that 2nd Gen GHP grippers appeared also, I believe. Which lines up with the overall move to cut costs from GHP.

  20. Thanks! It’s easier than the goose bar, a little easier kink and a lot easier crush, but you have to deal with the bolt head and threads that aren’t an issue with the Goose bar so it manages to be easier and more annoying at the same time

  21. This is true. I have a 160 rgc CoC 3.5 that I purchased from Amazon back in January 2022 (before I found out about CPW). I purchased one of each of the CoC grippers on Amazon initially, Guide through No. 4, all of which I sent in for rate and return to Matt.

  26. Today was planned as a normal “grip aware” workout. The main part was banded double overhand RDL’s and rows (with less bands). I was going to do blobs with it too but got tricked by problem free warmups only to realize that a blister on my index finger actually was a problem once I got to any blob wide enough to be worth liftingso I switched to one handed flask for alternating reps and then a hold on each hands last rep, I’m starting to suck less at flask and like it more … coincidence I’m sure Anywasy, my coolest set was 5 reps of DOH RDLs with 230 pounds and red/green/orange bands. If it wasn’t the set I filmed for the gram I probably would’ve stopped at 4 since there was a 50% chance the bar was going to get snapped outta my hands by all the band tension on that 5th rep, but I won the coin flip and held on After the barbell & flask stuff I did some kettlebells, mostly anchor cleans and some holds in rack position and that was all she wrote … or was it!!! Later in the day I found myself staring at my RB adjustable gripper and figured a few easy reps would be harmless enough, ten minutes later I’d worked up through my pinned standards until I got bricked by my 148 nickel!!! My highest rgc close is 152 and that was for a properly prepared for session but I didn’t let reason get in the way and started hunting for a TNS pr if I couldn’t get an MMS pr. Needless to say, I’d probably still be hunting for that TNS pr now but eventually the mail arrived and there was 20 shiny unbent 1/4”x7” g2 bolts right at my door step so I did the only reasonable thing at this point and bent one barehand and all was right with the world asides from saving me from gripper fever, I’m excited to work through these g2’s to help me getting used to bolt heads and threads barehand in the hopes of smashing a Horrido 4.8 barehand cert in the future!!!

  30. I asked this question to Wade in 2022. He said, “At this time I would say no just to keep things standard. If there is a lot of people calling for this we could change the rules.” So maybe he will weigh in because any future with the GHP cert will require an update anyway. I feel any properly measured block should be allowed. It’s been difficult to get an official block for years.

  31. I think the fact pasta man is still on the GHP list shows this challenge will never be active again
