  1. Yesterday… Found a huge duke which was sent to me by Zsolt, some months ago along with some other FBBC bars. So I tried it with doubles and was very easy thought the duke was harder. Should have done it in IMP´s. But it´s a bend. Then I tried a CRS Square 8mm x 5,5". Failed this one three times before. So this time I got it. Unfortunatley not in the 5 minute time frame, but I am happy with it. The two videos:

  5. His book mastery of hand strength was one of the things that really got me into grip training. Great book and easy/fun to read.

  7. Good to know! We want video of the run segments. Especially the mile so we can see you laying on the ground doing a snow angle type movement out of breath holding your side lol

  8. @Juha Lehtimäki thanks buddy. I know that you also bent thick and very short bars. @Tommy J. Thanks man! Great to hear this! This Square batch is a regular one. Not the hardest but also not an easy one. @Martin Kotte can confirm this batch.

  9. 26/05/2020 Gripper workout. Warmed up with a couple of TNS and then MMS reps with Trainer, #1 - 3 (was happy to get TNS #3 both hands, given that my CNS wasn't particularly fired up and I haven't trained for a little while after spending some time with the family after my grandmother passed). Working sets: 4 x 1 MMS attempts at my megalodon (~160), made them all lefty but really struggled with the set on the right hand and missed the last one. i think the injury to my left shoulder has meant that I am struggling to push with that arm in the fully protracted position that the set requires. Shoulder is well enough for me to start doing pull-ups again. I'm also doing knee rehab stuff, and a friend has sent me a specific program, which I'll start this weekend.

  10. Wow! KILLER bends, Jan! That 5.5” square in particular is a monster bend!

  11. Yes bending is very taxing and especially if your body is not used to the stress.

  12. Nice training Kevin! You will get the hang of the leg crush. Once you get it down and figure out what feels good for you, it is a very powerful position.

  14. Monday 3.7 mile run, KB Swings- 3x6 @ 53lbs Tuesday AM - 5k run, KB Swings -3x8@ 53lbs PM - Pull Ups - 8/8/7/7 - 50lb band Push Ups - 3x15 Wednesday- Wrist Wrench - 3x5 @ 41.25lbs Braced Snap - 3/8"x14" in 4:38 HR156 Braced Bend - 10mmx9.5" Tried out a 190k David Horne 9.5" bar using kink between the legs method for the first time. Once it kinked on the second attempt it was easy. Need to tinker with hand placement and wrist action. Don, its madness that you're bending shorter than this, at 1/2" diameter, using this method.

  15. My god man...I missed the "braced" part the first time I read that. I almost quit bending forever. That said...it's still ridiculously sick work! Nice!

  16. Good point about hand mechanics, etc. Iam still learning what position of my hand and DB in relation to my legs. Iam very fast twitch and attempting to lift the Inch I have tried to slow it down somewhat(fast twitch not ideal on this brute) if that makes sense. Rotational force is ever present but for me the handle slickness and thickness is what makes the DB challenging. Thanks for checking it out. BTW, you will definitely love the DB once you give a ride!

  17. Volume braced bending PR today, I bent 22 Gold Nails in a little under an hour. My hands and wrist are pretty beat up. Here are pics of my hands and the bars. Very happy with this. My endurance is definitely going up.

  18. So I did my basement wanna be workout and decided to try a bend. I hit a spiral once and managed MAYBE 5 degrees. Bahahahahaha! OMG I'm so pathetic. What makes it funnier is that I just ordered like 50 Golds and a shit ton of O-1 drillrod up to and beyond U. I literally laughed out loud at myself looking at a barely kinked easy Red. Wanting to end on a good note...I put some cordura pieces on the end of a mighty 60d and showed the bastard who was boss! Ha! It complied with my folding order in about 2 seconds...allowing me to at least experience something like bending. I'm glad I got some time to get in shape before the shipments arrive.

  19. Did the first real workout in a lifetime today it feels. Even trained some grip, first time in three months, it's amazing how much strength I've lost. Can't believe I did workouts with over 40 reps with the 153# rated #3 six months ago. Today I did 5, 3, 3 with a #2.5 (really hard one) and that was super difficult. Also did some deadhangs with fatgrips. Did 2x40 seconds and it felt like my fingers was about to snap. Did dumbbell rows with 70 kg. Felt like 90 kg did six months ago. Did a bunch of other stuff as well, including rack pulls. My grip is gone, had to use straps Finished everything with my first snapping of a steel bar. 6 mm nail using the vertical technique. Felt like it would never snap, almost lost my patience but right about when I was about to throw it away it finally snapped.

  21. I tried wraps but still lots of pain. Well good news guys. I reached out to Luke Raymond since hes a PT and one of us and he immediately knew where the pain was and gave his diagnosis and after watching youtube videos I think hes right. I found a wrapping technique for it. I tested it tonight with push ups on dumbbells handles to see if I felt pain and felt none. As most of you know I am a big boy. I use to weigh almost 300 lbs but I am down to 280 lbs so push ups puts a decent amount of weight on my wrist. Goal tomorrow is a top set on flat bench with paused reps with 225 as I continue to rehab the pec so with the wrapping technique I should be ok. Always gotta to find a way to keep moving forward. Icing the wrist constantly also and doing rehab stretching and blood flow exercises. I am a stubborn dude. I am not out of this.

  22. I have missed a few log updates but I haven’t missed workouts. Most workouts are little more than a warm up and the main exercise of the day. My conditioning is still a problem without a remedy in the near future and my diet has not been good either. Anyway, yesterday was a nice day so I went out into the yard. Another Fun Sunday Farmer walks 70 x 3, 140 x2 strangely my ankles were the weak point here log - clean and viper press each rep 130 3x5 sheaf tosses 5x3 70% effort atlas stone 5x1 little stone skull crushers 3x10 65 for elbow health Scf polo 0 to 180 with significant effort - I just couldn’t find my positions as this was yesterday, today I have all the weird little sorenesses. no book updates. My audiobook app isn’t working correctly and I am reading through a large textbook that is going to take some time.

  24. Tired of being so skinny (74k) so I decided to see what I can do in the 83k class. My best ever in training on this axle set up was 139k while weighing 74k. It's 150k on the bar and my body weight that day was 82k.

  25. Tuesday Axle deadlift with straps 297x8x3 (lb x reps x sets) Overhand steel bending timber tie x1 60d nail x1 9/32 x 7" CRS (330) 60d nails x3 Barely finished the 9/32 x 7" CRS. I really struggled with the crush on that one for some reason. Also managed to punch myself in the face on the sweep. My plan was to do my main bends in leather, then bend some 60d nails in BBW's without bands to simulate the IM red nail cert conditions. However I really struggled wrapping the nails in cordura and keeping them tight without bands. Each of the three 60d nails I bent in BBW's took me about the same amount of time as bending six 60d nails in leather. New plan for bending: use @Chez's approach to grippers and just get so stupid strong at MMS (leather and bands) that a wider set (cordura and no bands) doesn’t slow me down on an easier gripper (nail). Friday Zercher squat 187x8x3 (lb x reps x sets) Steel bending overhand timber tie x1 60d nail x1 1/4 x 7" square CRS x2 (The Square 390) 60d nails x6 20d nails x2 60d nail x1 (*in BBW with bands) All bends in leather wraps with bands*. First attempt with the square me a long time because it was way off center so I did another one to see if I could get it down under a minute. Still off center, but it went quicker. I also checked the bars I bent today against the bastard I bent last week and it looks like they’re all off center by almost exactly the same amount, even though the ones today have the three sharpie marks on them to keep track of center and for wraps like @Squeezus suggested. I think that means the issue is with my bending technique rather than my wrapping technique.

  26. Good bending day today. I did this braced bend, which felt good. I think I can go shorter. Afterwards, I bent 15 Gold Nails braced. Here is video and pics.

  27. After some fails on big bends the last two weeks I made set back on hard bends. Some solid bends yesterday and after all I did a one IMP bend as above, because there are still some one IMP goals out there for me. Thougt this bolt feels harder, but was ok. Next week is the time for some hard double bends, I guess.

  28. 20/05/2020 Have been in lockdown for a couple of months now and so haven't been able to do my usual training. Focus has been on mobility (including active mobility drills (end range strength, which have been very helpful) and gymnastic type movements listed below (some of which were performed with a weighted backpack up to about 20kg): Upper Body Pull ups, Dips, Ring Dips, Pushups, Ring Rows, Handstand, Press Handstand Drills, Rotator Cuff work with bands, Sit Ups, Leg Raises and compression work Lower Body Pistol Squats, Skater Squats, Running, Jumping, Nordic Curls, Reverse Nordics, Single Leg RDLs, Lunges, Single Leg Calf Raises, Tibialis Raises (against wall), Glute Bridges, Sprint Drills I've picked up a slight shoulder injury (left shoulder) from overdoing a human flag without sufficient warmup. I have also had some issues with my hamstring tendon on the left side (insertion closes to the gracilis muscle) which has hindered running in recent weeks (I had gone as far as 18km beforehand). I've been working on my knees and they feel very good, although the real test will be the resumption of barbell squats. Overall I feel reasonably good, although I assume that there has been significant strength loss and possibly some muscle mass loss too. Grip wise a few of the highlights are below. 30 consecutive #2 TNS reps (25 left hand) 10 consecutive #2.5 TNS reps (both hands) Solid MMS closes with Silvis Megalodon set to ~160lbs

  29. The graph is good. However, it can not show the number of Blobs that were sold off the Board and ebay, that are unknown by the Board or elsewhere. It would skew the graph . I will leave it at that....
