  2. LEVIATHAN 12mm x 60mm x 120cm (0.5" x 2 3/8" x 47.2") 6,8kg / 15lbs BY FAR my hardest bend up to now. I managed to bend a "Goliath" (12x40mm x 120cm - originated by Eric Vining - left one in the pic) after just a few sessions of longbar bending on March 2nd 2018. My next goal was a 12x50mm x 120cm flatbar (the one in the middle), which I was able to bend in August 2018. As I was the first man to bend such a bar I named it "Carl's Colossus", because it is so much bigger than a Goliath. Now, more than 8 months later, I am here: LEVIATHAN 12x60mm x 120cm I named it Leviathan, because it's exactly this: A MONSTER! Pretty proud of this one! Go bend some steel!

  3. I did the DHWOG Man Killer Snap Challenge today. Great fun! Snapping a red nail, Grade 8 Bolt and grade 5 Bolt back to back to back! Also, did some pads touching DU bends with my regular workout. Here are 2 videos.

  5. I alluded in another thread about someone grabbing a big ass anvil like it was a paper weight. That was none other than 1st COC Richard Sorin! It was on a video tape from this seminar that I got to see a preview of: To all those interested: on March 23rd, 2002 at Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky there will be a "two man" strength training clinic with Kim Wood, Strength Coach of the Cincinnati Bengals since 1975, and Richard Sorin, the first Captain of Crush. Kim Wood is one of the key proponents for training the grip for combat sports...Richard Sorin, quite possibly could have the strongest grip of any man on the planet. Grip training might be a key topic of the day. All gripsters should be aware of this "hands on clinic." In this seminar, Richard goes into detail on what he's learned and what made him successful in becoming one of the all-time grip masters. It's all here. Frequency, exercises, general philosophy on training, and you get to see all of his grip toys in this tape. You even get to see the audience attempt to lift the toys after Richard is done speaking. As a bonus, you get to see Bud Jeffries two hand clean the Inch replica and put it overhead. Bud was the guy who tried lifting the anvil and 1st COC casually goes over and lifts it up. Now, after seeing that on the tape, I think 1st COC is sandbagging to not draw attention to himself these days at what he can do even now in the grip dept. I never told Richard this yet, but now he knows if he reads this! He also grabs his bomb and lifts it casually and you get to see it GLUED to the platform at the end of his talk for all others who try to lift it.

  8. Nice list, but you're missing King Kong. October 26th. I'm sure you guys could host a venue in Texas. 250+ competitors are expected worldwide. One-Hand Flask, 2.5" Crusher, DubHub Shallow Hub, Little Big Horn. The contest seems tailor-made for you.

  9. Seeing these results gives me hope in a way, the numbers seem a lot more obtainable and realistic to me. Equipment seasoning, chalk application etc. seems to play a huge role and ads a lot of extra kilograms, and when you're used to manipulating the implements to the maximum in your favor, your performance is a lot lower % wise on a new implement or different rules. That's why I try my best to not care about the stuff like chalking up, seasoning the equipment etc., so that I'm starting in an unfavorable position and if the conditions are better, I'll just pull more, but if they are very strict, I've prepared for it in my training. Of course I'm gonna use chalk, but I'm not gonna make it into a science. It's like pulling all your deadlifts on a deadlift flexible bar, and pulling on a stiff bar in competition, it's not very advisable. I hope nobody takes this as an insult, I'm not aware of the other circumstances of the event, but I feel like the person needs to be prepared for the worst, both in life and in training, and making things easier for yourself comes back to bite you.

  10. I was able to chat with a few of the guys and they said the contest was extremely long. 14-15 hours per day long with weird gaps of time between attempts & events. These numbers speak to me more of fatigue over the travel/time changes/warmup times rather than tougher bars. I look forward to seeing trip reports

  11. Big numbers! Nice new record on the SB. Well done to everyone. Best RT seems to be by Tank 110KG by the new rules. Shows the difference.

  14. Even when it seems impossible, this buddy will bend it. Great job as always, Kalli! For all other long bar benders out there: there is more to come!
