Captains of Crush Credit Card and Packaging History
Blacksmith513 replied to Jared P's topic in IronMind Enterprises
Sorta off topic and maybe a stupid question.... Did Ironmind sell COC grippers in stores or catalogs I would have seen as a kid back in the day? Some of the packaging looks awfully familiar to me. -

Not much but it's something! Which felt great.. I'm not cupping as much now on the 2.5 Crusher and that felt better but I missed my last set, only got 2 reps. The carabiner I was using for a while was to round on both sides so I could get the slack out, so when I lifted it it would spin like crazy and I think thats how I messed up my wrists in both hands.. Since getting a new one its gotten better. All ready for Florida, I can't wait I really really need a break Was watching some instagram vids of James Fuller (who's only about 2.5 hours from me).. I might start incorporating some strength movements like he does when I get back.. Also going to try and pick up some more plates. -

Captains of Crush Credit Card and Packaging History

Since you put a question mark for the date of the Silver Crush I've posted (not mine btw): The first generation of Silver Crush didn't have a band, no numbers stamped, shiny spring, pinned. The second-gen is '93-'94, but at '94 the #4 was already introduced, which is not listed on the package. So that package its from 1993. We are missing: - '91 Silver Crush package: #1, #2, #3 - '92 Silver Crush package: #T, #1, #2, #3 - '94 Silver Crush package: #T, #1, #2, #3, #4 And there are the pre-silver crush full black Ironmind grippers (also made by Warren Tetting), I guess those had some kind of package as well. But those might not be "Captains of Crush", just Ironmind. -
Doug Dude's Training Highlights

Quick update from yesterday...I was talking with a manager and our boss during lunch and the topic of working out, home gyms vs the gym at work, etc came up. So I mentioned grip and Maryland's Strongest Hands this weekend, etc. Think if I bring in some grippers it would be a huge hit because people seem curious/interested. I mean...I'm more into blobs but grippers seem easier to carry on the metro train to work. hahaha -

Seems like it's getting better again, at least the latest batch that CPW received is better.

The knurling issue has been going on for a long time. What bothers me the most nowdays is that the handle mounting is quite frequently off on their grippers. This basically never happend before. I've had around 80 different COC's and I never had a single one of them like this before. But now the last two I bought had off set mounting on the handles. I bought them from completely different places as well, so I doubt this is just bad luck from my side. Considering it was almost impossible to get one like this before. Bad knurling is of course not good but I can still live with that. However getting off set mounted handles is way worse, that's something I would expect from cheaper brands to be honest.

We need to create a petition to Ironmind and get lots of people to sign it if we want to be heard.

Does the diameter of a gripper handle make much difference to its perceived difficulty
Slipshod replied to Fradders's topic in Equipment
The ROM increases by 1mm for every 1mm added to diameter since diameter applies it to both sides, which means 0.5mm per handle, assuming the same spring width and handle set of course. 1mm on the radius means 2mm on the ROM but also 2mm on the handle -
the photo shows how there used to be sharp peramides, but now they are cut off at the sharpest point
-
Man I gotta step it up. I dropped 10 places in the TNS roster
-
I've said this before and I say it again. The quality of their grippers is just getting worse and worse. Sorry but I will continue to whine about this until it gets better.

Updated the original post. Looks like there are 3 credit card versions, and 11 packaging versions (that we know of so far). -

Also noticed that the '02 has no 'hang hole' at the top, while the '04 and all subsequent packaging have hang holes, as well as the square '02 package. -

Version 2 CoC card arrived in the mail today. It's copyrighted with 2010 on the back. It came with this older model CoC 1.5 on the eBay listing. The knurling is noticeably sharper and darker/shinier. Guessing it also comes from this same time period (2009-2014ish). @Alex K had a good thread about the knurling change. I thought there was also another thread on the board about the CoC gripper timeline history, but I couldn't find it. -

Huge adjustment, the lack of sleep is the biggest one. However, I think having him around has given me the drive to get past that -
HORN Hit my warm ups at +90, +105, +120/1 BH LH +125/ 4, 2, 1, 1 RH +122.5/ 3, 1, 2, 1 Hands were shot today…nbd I think doing grippers instead of horn a few days ago caused this. Either way, time to keep on going and not let it get to me! Have a wonderful evening

Amazing! Thanks guys for the excellent info and photos. @Alex K that is some great documenting. No need to give me any credit for anything. I just made a topic is all, because I find it interesting. Maybe wait on the video until all the info is documented fully. -

Thanks man! I don’t really have wrap ADD, it’s always leather over cordura except for easiest warmups and when I say otherwise. -
