Wiggy uploaded a vid of this a few days ago. i got this idea from him.

id really like to see some vids posted from you guys doing the challenge. for some reason i feel like 5 pullups at 220# is decent (could maybe squeeze out 1 or 2 more on a good day), but i feel like some of you beasts can do better. especially the lighter guys. either way, i am curious to see how you guys do. both heavy and lighter gripsters welcome.

here is my vid:

here are the rules:

1. measure the door frame (most will be well under an inch)

2. no chalk

3. stand on a scale and show BW in the vid

4. do as many as possible without re-gripping

p.s. if anyone can do a 1 hand pullup in this fashion (at any BW) i will buy any 1 gripper of your choosing from CPW and have it shipped to you. because that would be awesome!

I wish you would have posted this about a year ago! I was doing one arms off of my college dorm room doorframe (with chalk). The door frames in my current apartment are weak and I fear breaking them off the wall. The dorm room had ~3/4" door frames, so it was larger than most, but one arm chin-ups were still very hard. I might make a visit in a few weeks to see if I can nab a video, no guarantees without chalk though.

right after i threw that last bit in the original post i was thinking to myself "damn. im about to buy Mike a gripper' lol!

and using chalk on the 1 hand doorframe pullup would be fine (since it will be WAY harder than doing it two handed) so your good if you only chalk for the one hand.

the only reason i request no chalk on two hands is because i felt like when i tried it it made it much easier to just hang from my last digits as opposed to having to arch my fingers to stay on board when not chalked.

word.

Yes, and this was after a meal. Today, I weigh 115.

I'm coming after your 66k record on 2HP, Cannon!

I'm going after that gripper too! I'll see if chalk makes a difference one armed.

Tommy, you mentioned earlier "one hand pull up" but did you mean a one arm pull up?
I can show you a one hand pull up, I think.

very cool! would be sick at 285 to do pullups like this. just an fyi, try and grab out wide towards to corners of the frame.. it may have a bit more support than the center.

yessir, mybad. 1 arm. i thought of trying it one handed while holding my wrist with the offhand as well (i assume thats what your thinking?), but havent tried it yet.

that would be sick as well. but the 1 arm pullup with this grip would be the cats meyyyow.

lets do this as a side challenge though-if you can do more (1 hand) pullups, as i described above while holding the wrist with the offhand, than me... wait for it... then i will put "(your name) has a stronger grip than me" in my signature for the entire month. hows that homie? :cool

Great deal Tommy, it'd be extremely impressive for you to even be able to hang off the frame with one hand!
It's on.
