I'll be there, the 2HP hold is a great event, looking forward to trying it. I have 2 friends who have not competed before interested but due to work schedules neither would know if they can come until last minute. Hopefully my other friend Chris who was at the last contest will be able to compete again.

Jeff

Thanks for the heads up the more the merrier.

Nick

I hope you can make it. It's only a 4 hour drive and the double slim lever should be right up your ally.

I think they are 18" but I could be wrong. We are planning to use use Darrin's Farmers bars that he's been going nuts on lately.

Yes the farmers handles are 18in from the floor.  Pretty nice knurling.  Each implement weights 45lb.  Handle diameter is 1.2 in.

Hope you can make it Nick.

I just measured from the floor to the top of my kneecap in bare feet . 24". It's going to be a looooong pick for me . The pick was always the hardest part for me. If I could pick them up I could probably walk 100 feet with them.

Nick the knurling is very mild.  It is just enough to hold some chalk.  I think the knurling feels pretty good.

That would be awesome Eric, if you could attend.  The more people the better.

I've never been to a Michigan event, so it's long overdue. From what I've heard, Larkin's is a cool gym.

I had a chance to try out the farmers bars last Friday night. The knurling is just enough to hold chalk and give some texture to the implement. My opinion is that this events going to test both your grip and your body equally.

Andrew, how's the last man standing format work for the farmers? Are there set weights that everyone lifts until there is no one left? Do you lift every weight or are there passes. What are the weights going to be ? I just dragged my old homemade farmers set out from behind my furnace, been back there for 4 years collecting dust. I'd like to do a few sessions like it will be in the contest beforehand. Thanks

Eric: Last I talked to Bob he is recovering from an injury so he is coming but he didn't know if he could compete.

Jeff:

Starting weight will be 185 each hand and everyone pulls the opener (Unless we need to go lighter then we will).

Weight will increase by 20 lb a hand. You can pass attempts and the highest weight that you pull will be your score. When you pull you have 60 seconds to complete your pull.

Thanks to Andy for doing all of this for me. Looks like I will be able to compete, but I won't be in top form.
And Eric, it will be great to finally meet you!
