Last night is the first time i closed my #2 since February last year! i closed it once with my right, and twice with my left. i did reset the gripper between reps but didnt rest 5seconds.

this time last year i was doing WAY too much gripper work (at least 3 sessions a week), injured my knuckles, and took a massive layoff because i thought id facked them up good and proper. i lost interest after that, and by May i hit a plateau and made zero progress. from that month on i didnt train grip at all for months. i started back either before xmas or January, cant remember because i didnt write it down.

ive been training grippers once a week now and it seems pleanty. i do x3-4 working sets including attempt(s) on a higher gripper, followed by x3 sets of negatives. progressing nice and steady this time round and its good to know that ive almost beat my old PRs.

Im hoping to keep this up and get the #2.5 by May or June. i would like to get the #3 (or close to) this year aswell, thats gonna be tough though.

is there anyone left trying to get the #2.5?

I think that most of the closers have at best MMS the 2.5, and a lot of us have yet to CCS it... although some of us have. I know for one that I have only closed from a parallel set.

I can mms both hands. Not tried a ccs, but could certainly do it right hand. My goal is a TNS of the #2,5 and Im not there yet.

I can close it from all the way open, but that's just how I train grippers... Not a TNS, just all the way open.
Keep working guys, you'll get there soon enough :)

Mephistopholes, i like your style. thats how i train aswell. no set, just banging out full ROM reps. i think thats key to progression, but im no expert. if i get the #2.5 ill put up a video.

Just ordered an adjustable RB Chrome gripper aswell, that should be back in the week and help me along nicely! :)

I noticed today that from a CCS puts my pinkies middle joint in a crimped position on max effort closes, because it doesn't wrap around the gripper from the CCS position... I have to start the close with the first three fingers. Anyone else with vinnie sausage fingers have the same problem?

My hands are a bit bigger but can't you just position the hand differently?

I guess I could.... doing the dogleg positioning from memory because I dont have a gripper with me, but I think that it's going to be WAY back on my thumbpad like near the joint. It seems to only be a problem with max effort closes at 25 pennies width (which I just looked up and is 63.75mm dunno apparently if that's correct) or wider. I've never really trained grippers at that width because... well I don't remember why... that could have been something that I noticed early on and forgot though.

I'll post a video later to explain this.
