Inch Dumbbell Lift: Body Weight Less Than The Dumbbell!

Inch Dumbbell made by Jason Adamski. Could have done a little better lockout and hold as well as better video work, although it was a good training lift. Inch is still hit and miss, but slowly improving.

Right after the lift, skip to about the 2:15 mark if you don't want to waste two minutes of your life with me fumbling around with the scale out of view, I messed up but didn't edit it out.

very nice lift! good job mate.

Thank you Jones1874!

Thanks Chez, looking forward to seeing you lift the Inch very soon!

Damn Bob, I'm sure that's a super short list of feats if it even exists. Great job!

Thanks Delmar! Bruce White, a couple arm wrestlers (maybe a least one thumbless?) and someone on the GB with a username like Captain Sam maybe...? I don't know of anyone else who weighed both themselves and the DB on video. If I make a better lift/video, I'll post it in this thread later.

That's super impressive.

Thank you EJ!

The only other one I can think of close to this would be Tommy Heslep but I think he posted he didn't have the video with scale and bodyweight etc.

Chris, here is the only picture I've seen of Tommy attempting the Inch-haven't seen a video, if someone could post one that would be great. I have no doubt he lifted it.

Bob I trust Tommy's word that he has done it - i've seen him in action - but he weighs "around" 172# - not sure what he weighed when he did it. Anyway you look at it - it's a very short list.

Thank you Eric; you are much more well-rounded and accomplished than this 'one-trick pony.'

Chris, thanks, Tommy's strength is legendary so of course there is no doubt. I think because I am probably the most unlikely Inch lifter around the onus is on me to provide more evidence.

I read this and immediately your pinch prowess came to mind. But more importantly, I think "one-trick pony" is often found to be a misleading term when you scratch the surface a bit and discover the multidimensional mastery required to perfect that "one trick" (diet, training protocols, bio-feedback, mental toughness, endurance, and on and on). The cards were stacked against you when you announced to us you'd be training to deadlift the Inch Dumbbell several years back. For such an unlikely candidate as yourself to actually accomplish the feat impresses me far more than a gifted athlete high-pulling the Inch, cleaning the Blob, and pulling a 400 axle after six months of casual training.

Thank you for your very thoughtful remarks Eric; they mean a lot to me. Believe me, there were moments when I felt like a a pathetic, delusional, Walter Mitty-like figure along the way (probably others saw me in that light too)-especially when I first put the DB in my car with great difficulty using both hands. One person told me I should 'stick to blobs'. But I committed myself to lifting the Inch and was willing to do it or die/break myself trying. I guess I need a Moby Dick in my life to battle in the physical realm, just like you and many others here.

You held it up top like a champ! Good job man, I'm stoked for you.

Thanks Yori!

Years of dedication, just like Bruce White. Awesome feat of strength for a man of your size Bob.
