EJ Livesey
Been a couple months since i bent anything like this. My hands are not what they used to be, they are pussified big time. I have more than enough strength but my skin and bones can't take much more than this bend. This bend shows me i need to step up my game and bend big stuff to get my toughness back. At my toughest i could bend this bar in about 3mins and a big G8 in about 5mins in these wraps. I finished the bend and one could argue that i missed it by 1/16th and i would agree. I would never turn this in for a cert.

JoshW
Can't imagine how much strength and balls this takes. I really hope you get a gold in singles sometime soon! Would love to see videos more often, so helpful for adjusting technique and awesome to watch

EJ Livesey
Wow man. Thanks bro. I appreciate you checking it out. Can't imagine how much strength and balls this takes. I really hope you get a gold in singles sometime soon! Would love to see videos more often, so helpful for adjusting technique and awesome to watch Josh I've been slacking on the videos, for that I apologize. You are right. But in all honesty the novelty of posting videos has worn off. But if these help people I will make more. I will bend the gold nail, but all in due time. It broke me horribly once, that will not happen again. So I'm taking it slow. My name will be on that list. Sweet. Every time I start getting cocky, I just watch one of your videos. Coming back to planet earth is so comforting. I'm here for you buddy, lolololololol. Thanks for checking it out Nate.
Anthony C.
Here's the thing with bending. You can't really appreciate bending until you have bent. Only a bender knows what the hell just happened and why it was so awesome after watching this vid.

But based on what I’ve seen I’m pretty sure EJs effort is a huge strength feat.

Only a bender knows what the hell just happened and why it was so awesome after watching this vid. This is very true. Way more true than I'd like to admit. It's a tough bar for sure, but with proper training and dedication anyone can bend this. Here's the thing with bending. You can't really appreciate bending until you have bent. If some one tried this and had no idea what to expect they would deem it an impossible feat and walk away. Bones would break before this steel would yield. It took me years of traing and dedication to bend this and feel no real reprocussions. For me one are chins are an impossible feat right now, but with years of dedication it's possible.

JoshW
Try a Red nail from iron mind then bare in mind this is over 200lbs harder to bend than that you should have the flexibility for it though Evan!

Buccos1
Insane bend EJ! That is a sick, sick bar in singles.
Frank Pizzo
Anthony is right. The more I bend...the clearer things become. A year ago I would have said "Great job E.J., very strong man." and not really have gotten it. Six months ago I would have said "Absolutely incredible strength EJ...just plain beastly man" and not really have gotten it. Today I can say "I absolutely respect this bend, your strength, and your awesome toughness to pull it off in singles" but the funny thing is I'm still not sure I truly get it for all its worth. Great job brother...keep em' coming man!
Andrew P
I agree with Frank and Anthony. I've got to bend a lot bigger steel to understand just how that steel is. But in the meantime great job.
Mike Sharkey
Insanely strong. 2 hits to 90 degrees. Sick.
Billy Jack
Very, very awesome and hard bend. I cannot imagine. 5 months ago at my strongest, I tried a 190kg IronGrip bar. It felt like it broke every bone in my hand to just wobble it and I browned out. Way too early for me to try that bar, but it was worth the experience to just get an idea just how elite guys bending big steel are. It may have been discussed before, but what poundage do you think you should be bending at 7" in singles before you think you could bend the gold in singles EJ? Would 750-800 in singles be close? I know you and tommy have felt both and could make some type of correlation. That's just the toughness correlation. I know the extra 1 and 3/8 inch brings flexibility into play but asking just straight poundage. Edited May 21, 2015 by Billy Jack

MANTHOS
EJ, if you used those tinny, tight pre wraped crash pads, that many of us use lately, you could take this under 2'' with your 1st crash hit... of course you know that... What impresses me is the power you produce at the first two hits... brother, is like the steel melts! Another great bending feat. Thank you brother for posting and show to the rest of us how hard work really pays back. Salut. Manthos.

EJ Livesey
will give it a try at some point, thanks for the encouragement guys. Keep posting EJ! Evan, next time you are out and about take a trip to Home Depot or Lowes. Grab two of three 60d nails. they are 1/4" thick by 6" long. throw some rags or socks on them and try to bend them. now you have an idea. Insane bend EJ! That is a sick, sick bar in singles. Thanks Carl, where have you been these days? Anthony is right. The more I bend...the clearer things become. A year ago I would have said "Great job E.J., very strong man." and not really have gotten it. Six months ago I would have said "Absolutely incredible strength EJ...just plain beastly man" and not really have gotten it. Today I can say "I absolutely respect this bend, your strength, and your awesome toughness to pull it off in singles" but the funny thing is I'm still not sure I truly get it for all its worth. Great job brother...keep em' coming man! Thanks a lot Frank. The only thing that kept this bend going was my mental toughness, because my skin was close to ripping to shreds I agree with Frank and Anthony. I've got to bend a lot bigger steel to understand just how that steel is. But in the meantime great job. Thanks Bro, if you keep bending i have no doubts you will bend huge things. Insanely strong. 2 hits to 90 degrees. Sick. thanks bro. Seems i will always have the kink strength. now the crush strength, different story Very, very awesome and hard bend. I know the extra 1 and 3/8 inch brings flexibility into play but asking just straight poundage. at my strongest i was bending 700ish steel in these wraps with no problems. the Gold nail at that time was very hard bend for me. in IM pads i could kink and get into sweep position. However none of this was on film and i was training exclusively for the gold nail. this was the time when i broke a few bones, tore connective tissue and was out for over a year. going form 7" stuff to gold nail really cant be compared. different ranges of motion, muscles used, stress on different tendons and different type of flexibility. this is something you need to condition yourself for. Good work EJ. Way to get it done. thanks Mark
EJ Livesey
Always making us feel like pansies. great bend brother! lol, thats not what i want. i want to inspire you guys to bend the biggest stuff possible. to focus and know if i can do it, you can too. Salut. Manthos. Thanks Manthos, i appreciate the kind words. Those crush pads arent something i ever got used to. maybe i will make a pair and give them a serious try. but i really like the idea of finishing a bend in the wraps i started with and not having to fumble around changing them. Huge bend! thanks brother That's some perfect DO technique. lol, im glad you think so. but its ugly, really no technique, just muscling the bar. thanks for checking it out Ivan

EJ Livesey
Solid. Got any bending goals at the moment? Short term would be to cert the Iron Grip 250kg bar. Long term would be the IM Gold Nail.
