JaredWith1R
I've noticed more than a few people that have built rigs to rate their bending stock. I'm wondering if you all keep track of your bending data, and if so, can it all be consolidated into a crowdsourced reference. I usually use AZ Grip or Grip Ratings Steel for my information (which I believe are the same list), but I know that stock varies A LOT. So I was thinking, the more data the better. Could all of this information from everyone who does ratings be put together to give a larger population of data? What does anyone think? Or does this already exist. Jose Cabrera
Yup , its been done and thats where it is, they are averages i believe, variance will always be there, why not try rating your own stuff, cant hurt to make your progression more clear, pm Tim T or Ivan. JoshW
Il quote EJ on this. " in reality you have never felt a confirmed piece of calibrated stock but when you do it it will surprise you. Either it will melt or fight either way it will suprise you" I'd be interested to see if you are around those predicted numbers, either way good luck! Oh trust me, I am thinking about new rigs everyday. I'm still too new at this, and don't have the disposable income to put into a rating rig. Once I'm sure I will be sticking around, and have the money, I will for sure be building something. That's where it all is. We are already ahead of you. Excellent! Is that page constantly updated? I had just assumed it wasn't live. Thanks.
EJ Livesey
I know Tim Tolbert is updating it every once in a while. There really aren't too many guys calibrating anymore. But we have "close enough" numbers to go by. In the near future I am kicking around the idea of calibrating drill rod and seeing how popular it is. No offence to Iron Grip which is awesome! However it would be nice if there was a source for some calibrated stock in the states.

Billy Jack
Anyone have an idea when the last fbbc bastard was calibrated? I have two or three from 2012 or 2013 that seem really, really difficult. I would assume close to 500#. I tried one the other day after a red nail and it was much harder than the 435# rating for the new spiral reds. Was barely able to kink it in IM pads. I would appreciate that, since I am working on drill rod. I would like to know all of the stock averages, what they were measured at before testing and the variances for each size. That's what I intend to do when I get a rig going. Thanks.
Tim71
I've reported almost all my results on AZ grip.
