In The Beginning...

So I was texting to Sharkey that my daughter hadn't attempted bending yet and went back from the garage to the house.

My daughter says she wants to bend. ??? I suggest we wait until tomorrow. "NO...I want to try tonight."

Okey dokey. Literally this is all I told her...

This is how to measure the nails...(green .185, white the same but longer) etc., how to hold the nail, how to wrap the nail in IMPs.

Then I tell her to hold on tight and move your elbows together horizontally...not chicken wing it.

Even with the expected fumbling, even with me explaining half way through how to regrip and interlock her fingers, each took between 20-30 seconds.

Not that she was winded...but we called it a night to end on a really positive note.

Although I know it's a step up...I'm thinking she might actually take down the yellow (blue) next time out.

And if that happens...doesn't it make you think? Ahhh...putting the cart before the horse.

But...I mean...she's not yet 16.

Sounds to me like we've got another bending partner for the 13th :D

Awesome, strength runs in the blood! If only my father woulda showed me to close a gripper and bend a nail before age 16 - all that wasted time!

Well...I recently started her weight training 3x a week for her swimming.

Today before her workout she wanted to attempt the yellow nail (7x.250).

The funniest thing happened. She failed to move it at all...not the funny part.

She ripped off the wraps and stuck them loosely on a white nail...destroyed it in (noshit) 3 hits and literally 4 seconds...then she did it two more times in a row.

Haha...she was so pissed about the yellow. Took her anger out on steel.

So I guess I'm gonna have to find her some steel that's in between the white and yellow. :)

3/16 square stock is a good intermediate.

Good stuff man! She looks like she has a talent for it.

I love getting my kids involved in grip too, and my wife was just asking me the other day if we had anything the kids could bend. I said no, but I can definitely go get some!
