Electron
Was browsing at a Play it Again Sports that I frequent, and found this beautiful piece of equipment. I was looking for a 40lbs block weight to use in my training, and a pair of these came in view. Looks beastly to lift, because of the pyramid/cone shaped slopes found on each side. No indications of company or make. May have been refinished recently, as it appears spankin' new although the metal feels used. Any clues as to what this is? If anybody wants to call dibs on a head of this, let me know. Bought the pair so will have 3 extra.
Jedd Johnson
I have a half 120 like that. Despite the curvature, it is fairly easy to lift, because it is narrow. Most of my other half 120's are very think and much harder to lift because of it. However, I have no idea on what type of dumbbell it is. Electron
That makes sense. Is yours older and rusty, or does it look similar to mine? Also, is it harder than a 120 hex?
Electron
Cut one of them up today. Feels like a beast. Weighs just under 40lbs, but I can barely get it up 2HP style. To put this into perspective, I have 7-1/2 hands and can pull bout 140 on the 2HP. Flare makes it difficult.
mightyjoe
Looks similar to a 2nd generation Marcy DB. The 1st generation had the same geometry except that the ends were longer in length. Looked like a horizontal space ship if you can picture this. LOL!
