If you should require a guinea pig to test new event ideas on, let me be the first to volunteer. I will gladly drive over.

Count on it! I think a "training day" kind of thing might be fun - invite a few people over and just have at things! I want to weld up a couple items and I'll get in touch.

Just an early heads up

So far I'm thinking

  • Silver Bullet Hold. Will follow all IM rules so lifts (times) will count.
  • Two Hand Pinch – will be held using my apparatus or another seasoned one – not a virgin one. Only one warm up on the competition set up will be allowed (and must be within 20# of your opener) – there will be a separate set up provided for all other warm ups. All widths possible with 4 thick and 3 thin spacers will be allowed. We will do each width in its entirety and then move to the next width, and so on. We will flip a coin to see if we start narrow or wide. All other normal rules apply.
  • Double Overhand Iron Mind Axle Deadlift – normal rules apply. Only one warm up on the competition set up will be allowed – there will be a separate set up provided for warm ups. Sumo or Conventional allowed.
  • Monster Medley – will not be scored as left and right separately – you can use either hand like in the old days. Items will be posted in advance but not the weights to be used as I have no idea what those might be.
  • Very possible I’ll drop one event and go with 3 for time’s sake depending how many people sign up.

There will be no late entries this year – if you want to come, send in your entry form and money by the deadline. I’m tired of having double the number of people I expected show up and having to change everything to accommodate them at the same time I'm trying to run the comp. It's still early but I'll have the entry form etc posted nice and early with final events - rules - times etc.

I'm in for sure. If for no other reason than to get my butt kicked by the Monster Medley again. :rock

I am in bro.

Jedder - do you have the actual Disk thingy from IM? I have the proper size kilo plate but it would be cool to have that great big thing to use.

I don't own it. I have it on loan. Eventually Randall will want it back.

I've been in contact with Randall at IronMind and we're getting everything ironed out for the Silver Bullet Hold event at Gripmas. So whatever you do will count towards their records etc. Not that I figure to set one personally but you big gripper boys will all have your chance!

Chris,

Luke is planning to come and believe it or not, my old friend Eli wants to as well. He has done the last few mega-comps I have held and wants to train hard for a conventional comp now too. Just to let you know.

Sweet - Luke coming makes me glad/sorry :) I don't have a sledge event in there. I haven't seen Eli for years maybe since the YMCA meet in Towanda? He was always a beast!

Gonna be interesting. Eli works his grip but doesn't train it for comps. With a few weeks of training, it could really be scary.

chris, do you know what the time limit will be on the medly?

Not yet. I'm kind of waiting on the entry deadline and how many people we're having. Lots of people equals fewer item and less time - not too many equals more items and more time. But either 3 or 4 minutes probably. I have 43 items laid out so far but will cut that down by a lot.
