Anthony C.
Morning gents, So this weekend was the NY Grip Throwdown. Had an excellent time! So many good people in the sport of Grip, and we had a great turnout for the competition. I came in for the weight class I wanted, the 74kg class. So I was happy about that. (This will hopefully be the last time I compete in that class as I would like to put on some more weight). Grippers were a competition PR for me, closed a 136 Baraban with 20mm block. For Euro, I really wasn't expecting anything over 125, as I don't train with the euro and never really excel with it. But I surprised myself. PR of 141.xx, and I was about an inch away from hitting 148! Axle I did as expected, 261.xx. I dropped 271 about halfway up the lift. However, with the axle lift, I have qualified for Nationals I don't think I'm going to go as I'm really not strong enough to warrant a trip to Ohio, but definitely next year. Over and onwards

Congrats on the PR's at the comp! Thank you for all the support guys! I was really happy with my results, mainly because my overall grip training hasn't been going great with all the bending I've been doing. I was shocked that I maintained or gained strength on everything. Anthony C.
Grip yesterday Grippers Right 7x114 (20mm) 6x114 (20mm) 2x124 (20mm) 2.5x124 (20mm) 5x114 (20mm) 1x128 (20mm) 2x128 (20mm) 1x128 (1'') Left 7x104 (20mm) 7x104 (20mm) 1x114 (20mm) 6x104 (20mm) 3x104 (30mm) 1x109 (30mm) Hub Right 4x42 3x42 6x39.5, 6 second hold 39.5 Left 2x42, 3x42 6x39.5, 5 second hold 39.5 TTK both hands 5x25, 7x25, 6x25, 15x20 Crushing strength is doing good so far. Hub has decreased since I trained it. One thing I hate about grip is that if you stop training a lift for a bit, you get weaker on it. Even if you are still training that aspect of grip. So all my months of two hand pinching did absolutely nothing for my hub, and my hub regressed. Now that I'm focusing on gripper training for a bit, I'm sure my thick bar strength will go to crap too. Why can't hands just be strong with training?
Royz
One thing I hate about grip is that if you stop training a lift for a bit, you get weaker on it. Even if you are still training that aspect of grip I hear you man. I hate that too! Everything is specific. If you get better at the Vulcan your TSG strenght goes down. If you get better at wide pinch your normal pinch goes down. etc etc. There seems to be very little carryover from one thing to the next. Aaaaargh.

JHenze646
I am just barely starting to figure this stuff out the least bit. If you find an exercise that improves your general hand strength, it produces better results than focusing on a specific lift. Finger curls are working for me right now. They have carryover to pinch, tb, and grippers but I have to work the technique to be able to exhibit that strength.(especially grippers) Blockweights have good transfer too.
