HandsofStone
Well its been quite a few years since I last logged on here. There's so many more new grip toys to choose from. I LOVE IT!! My question is regarding which handle design to get with the RB adjustable gripper. I like the idea of getting the textured handle with extension for negatives but I wonder how this handle design will effect dynamic reps vs knurled handles? Do the textured handles make it harder to maintain one's grip? All advice will be much appreciated.'
Evan Raftopoulos
the handle with the finger grooves feels different than regular handles. I think it's nice to have that variation in your gripper training but for me it's more difficult to close it at heavier settings vs with the regular RB adjustable. But that's just me and it may be because I haven't been using it much yet. this is relevant http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?showtopic=44253

I am sure Robert Baraban will also make you a knurled extension. I would order one of the handles filed down for beyond the range training. Evan Raftopoulos
that's sounds like an awesome gripper Jorg, if you don't mind me asking, how much is he charging for the custom made ones?
Jörg Keilbach
I don't remember but it was not that much.
Evan Raftopoulos
for the ext handle one best deal I found in the US is from a guy on ebay for about $170. I think he still has a few left. That's the most I've spent on a single gripper. I was also able to find a regular RB chrome for about $70.
Jörg Keilbach
I think that i payed 90€ for custom made beyond the range gripper. But it is without the extension.

Evan Raftopoulos
btw the one with the finger grooves feels really good for rehab with lighter resistance the day after you go heavy on grippers, or for warmup before you do your regular grip workout. I have it at work with me and doing reps throughout the day when I have free time. But yea, once you go heavier on it it starts feeling uncomfortable vs using grippers with regular knurled handles. Evan Raftopoulos
But yea, once you go heavier on it it starts feeling uncomfortable vs using grippers with regular knurled handles. I take this back, the more I use it the more comfortable it feels in my hand. I did negatives yesterday at the 147 lbs setting, felt about as difficult as my Silvis t rex with ext handle rated at 150 and definitely easier than my Grand Master ext 156lbs. Just wanted to mention this so my previous comment is not misleading in case someone is interested in getting one.
