Anthony C.
Now you gotta do it against a bicep blaster without moving your elbow and holding the blaster steady with your other hand! with back against a wall starting from the ground each rep! Awesome man! I love you man.

James Retarides
Ah, thanks for the clarification Chris. I don't check the board enough to know the trolls. Armwrestling message boards were full of them.
Anthony C.
Dear Cinnamon, eggs, milk: WTF did any of that mean? I am guessing there is some inside joke I am not privy to. Love James It meant "Troll". I have no idea what that guy was all about - strange one. I liked him. He didn't overpost and the things he did say were brilliantly stupid. I think they should've let him hang around. Kind of like the stray cat that hangs out at your mechanic's garage and everyone is cool with it. James Retarides
Haha, got it. I didn't want to see the guy kicked off, I just honestly wanted to know what he was talking about.
AKJV1769
Awesome James!! James (like the others in the Charlotte NC) crew have an unbelievable work ethic. He did 131+lb recently with one arm for one rep (See: 131.4lb dumbbell preacher. ) and I have never seen anyone do that much in the full range of motion he uses on a preacher curl bench (which pretty much forces you to be strict). This is also a very dangerous movement as well, as bailing on this weight could get ugly. James: Taylor and I should be at practice at Bob’s this Saturday.
James Retarides
Great to hear Scott! I haven't seen Taylor in months! I think I am going to take a shot at 60kg (132+lbs) and then back off them. As you mentioned strict and dangerous and when the bicep fails with that much weight the effects can be dramatic.
slazbob
James- Have you ever tried the 100lb strict curl challenge that was going around a couple years back?
James Retarides
Yes, I just started training for it a few weeks ago. I got a good curl without leaning with 92.8 lbs. i have literally never done curls like those before because I feel a strain in my shoulder when I do them (even with lighter weight). From armwrestling I always tried to train biceps with my elbows isolated (as well as other muscle groups). I am going to try to cut the weight down for a while and get used to the movement and when it gets more comfortable I will try to do some one-RM stuff
slazbob
It's a heck of a feat! Good luck, James.

austinslater
James I'm late to the party but incredible feat. I've been raming up curl work as of late and this is a monster lift. Congrats on hitting your goals! Austin
James Retarides
Thanks Austin! I have a few more I would like to hit before the end of the year. I am a bit fat right now. I have that fear that I will lose strength as I lose weight. At least that's the excuse I am telling my wife
