Today pretty tired after several hours of chainsaw action - so I took it easy with some extensor work with IM bands. The white band was enough - wondering which human beings need those red bands for their extensors?!!? :whacked:D

Blob

right hand

1x1x30/35/40#

6x1xBlob50

left hand

1x1x30/35/40#

6x1xBlob50

missed some attempts each hand - big relief that I'm still strong enough for the blob after my short blob break. Still some thumb pain righty but it's ok.

Today I ended my session with my wristroller. My wristroller has a smooth 5,7cm diameter handle and is mounted round about 120cm above floor level. I always roll it up and let it slip down without rolling. I worked both ways (for the inside and outside of the forearm). Rolling it up once counts as one rep.

both ways:

4x30kg

After that my forearms nearly popped! My entire arm still feels good since I also trained triceps and biceps!

Wristroller for recovery - 15kg only for 6 sets. No idea about how many reps - just for blood flow. Before that I did 100 chins - most sets consisted of 3 reps. I never did 100 reps with such good technique! I think that's the result of doing just a few session with a lot of additional weight.

Yesterdays grip training:

Blob lefty/righty

1x1x30/35/40#

1xBlob50 (8 attempts each hand) - not good but I did blob inbetween biceps sets and my fingers were pretty tired of those permanent curls.

InchDB left and righty

6x1x51kg - InchDB lifting "without" biceps is NOT easy.... :whacked True eye opener how much biceps is really involved in InchDB lifting!!

InchDB work

left hand

3x1x51kg

2x1x57kg

1x1x63kg (after the first 63kg lift with my right hand and lifting the 57kg Inch lefty I decided to give the 63kg a try with the left hand - which I have only done about 10 times in total in the last 5 years. Today it was a good lift - in fact the best I've ever done!)

3x1x57kg

right hand

3x1x51kg

1x1x57kg

6x1x63kg (first lift felt extremely easy - like never before. It felt more like the 57kg Inch!!)

Very satisfied with my progress - I really believe now to be able to do the INCH some day. Sometimes I have the impression that I really have to outsmart my body to get him stronger...

Burkhard, congratulations on your PRs!

Consider taping (or using magnets) to attach between 3kg and 5kg of weight to the same side of each bell on your 172 lb. Inch. Lift it with the attached weights on the same side as your fingers (not the thumb side). This counterweight will slow the rotation, add more or less weight to suit your needs. Let me know what happens or if you have any questions.

If you cannot lift it no matter how much of a counterweight you add, work on your supporting finger strength, it may be a weak point-I doubt this however, with as much as you can lift on the axle. I have a video or two showing this and can post a link if you have any questions.

Thanks Bob! I'll try with counter weights next time I feel really strong again. Using the InchDB in training would be pretty cool!

Inch work

right hand

3x1x51kg

1x1x57kg

1x1x63kg

3x1x63kg

left hand

3x1x51kg

1x1x57kg

3x1x63kg (feeling strong!!)

3x1x57kg (this dumbbell begins to feel so light - it's just unbelieveable!!)

DO Axle DL

6x55kg

4x95kg

2x135kg

1x135kg

1x135kg

The axle felt extremely slick because of the low humidity and my DL strength ist way down after not doing ist for a while so that explains the weak result.

Doing the planned blobwork in those conditions surely did not produce anything special:

right and left

1x1x30/35/40#

left hand

5x (attempts) Blob50 (only a marginal hover)

right hand

5x (attempts) Blob50 (1x full DL)

Blob work

left and right hand

1x1x30#

6x1x35#

Took it easy today because my forearms and especially the thumb tendons were still sore for several days because I had to work with a sledge. I'm really not used to do this kind of work....
