Gladiator Blockweights

Gladiatorpower has some nice blockweights that Im considering to buy.

Only thing is, I dont know what blockweights to buy. I've never seen one, less held one in real life.

There are 8kg, 10kg, 12kg, 14kg, 17kg, 20kg, 25kg and 30kg blockweights on there.

I dont want to buy a blockweight that is too light.

JUHA HARJU, where do you think Im at?

I have rather large hands and I can 2h pinch 85kg @ 60mm thick pinch block.

Im thinking I would lift the 14kg and 17kg maybe?

Also, I dont want to buy a blockweight that I might never lift. If its an insane feat of strength to lift the 30k bockweight then I wont buy it.

As I said, I dont know what its like or how hard it is to lift em.

I don't have experience with those block weights but I have heard about them. You're a fairly big guy so if I was in your position I would buy the 17kg and 20kg sizes. You will probably lift the 17kg right away or after a short period of time and you can work towards the 20kg. If you can't lift the 17kg right away, there are technqiues you can use to get it like drags and board slides etc. If you have the money, you can also get the 25kg as a long term goal. 14 kg is kind of light for bigger guys with larger hands. Even if you struggle with the 14 kg to start, It won't be long before its too easy. Just an idea. You should probably PM Juha though since I know he has experience with those particular block weights.

Don't know if this for any help but based on your goals on singnature i estimate that you are aproximately as strong as i am.

I don't have block weights but i have used natural stones instead and weighted some of them. Last summer i could lift stone that was 13kg and last week when i tested i was able to lift my goal stone for this year. That was little bit over 18kg.

I have quite small hands <7.5 inches.

Take into account that their curvature is not like the one of York-Blockweights

NewGrippster:

I received Gladiators 14 kg and 17 kg blob today. First time I high repped the 14 kg bh. 17 kg I lifted once with RH.

You are stronger then me in pinching I think. I have pretty medium sized hands.

So I THINK that the 17 kg would be high reps for you. And the 20 kg maybe good for you.

But hey, i'm only guessing here.

Cool!

That 30kg is a joke! I have 17, 20 and 30.

I can lift 17 and 20. I was supposd to get the 25kg but they sent me the wrong one.

30 kg is insane.

So i took some measurements, please these are only roughly. I don´t have the equipment at home to make it more exact.

The surface is also not smooth.

The side on the top i took as it would have an sharp edge.

So as you have seen in the pictures above. i have Blobs from the first gladiator series:

14 kg diameter: 16cm width: 11cm top: 7,5cm

17 kg diameter: 17cm width: 13cm top: 8,5cm

20 kg diameter: 19cm width: 14cm top: 9,5cm

25 kg diameter: 20cm width: 14,5cm top: 10cm

30 kg diameter: 21,5cm width: 15cm top: 11cm

Hope you´ll get an idea ;-)
