EricMilfeld
Impressive feats, Yori! Does the counterweight of the bar have the net effect of making the pistol easier?
Electron
Impressive feats, Yori! Does the counterweight of the bar have the net effect of making the pistol easier? Thanks Eric! It's much harder. The bar is 25lbs, held in a front squat position it doesn't change the body's center of gravity much. Held out in a straight arm position, 5lbs would be the best counterweight. Anything above that would be increasing the difficulty. My PR with the weight extended in front of me was 45lbs.

Electron
Bro... all of that was excellent. Your one arm chin is solid now! Still working on ironing out the kinks, especially being heavier. I'm going to start on skill work for this, and it should put me in a great place.

I'm 138, working on getting to 145-150. How has training been? How long is it taking you to gain lean muscle mass? Are you still doing the gallon of milk a day thing? 150lbs is really good! Whats your ultimate mass goal? I have many inter-related goals, so in regards to progress in specific movement patterns I have generally been found to have no progress for a while and then a big PR out of no where, but consistently gaining in the general patterns of movement meaning work capacity => volume => intensity, but not necessarily that order. Not sure if that was the answer that you were looking for, but there it is. Are you out for summer semester?
