September 29, 2014 Squats in the AM Bending in the PM

Squats

  • 225 lbs for 1 set of 20, 225 lbs for 1 set of 5 (these were closer to pararell but the over arching problem persists)

Bending

  • 1/4 CRS 7 inches- bent
  • 8.5 in G DR- bent (the 8.5 were the odd lengths left over after cutting up 3 ft sections)
  • 8.5 in J DR- bent
  • 7 in J DR- miss

Bending felt horrible. These were all done in IMP, felt like I was flat.

Grip (left hand)

  • CoC #2.5 130 lbs 1 set of 1
  • GHP #6 130 lbs- missed
  • Various rolling thunder and hub work with the kids to introduce them to the instruments. Rolling thunder was around 135 lbs for sets of 5 and hub was around 25 lbs for sets of 5 and then 30 lbs for a set of 2. My hub is still a hockey puck with cardboard around the base so I cannot grasp it.

Bench

  • 135 lbs for 1 set of 10
  • 225 lbs for 1 set of 5
  • 315 lbs for 1 set of 4
  • 320 lbs for 1 set of 2
  • 315 lbs for 1 set of 3

October 3, 2014- Just received fat gripz and this is my first ever workout with them

  • 135 lbs for 1 set of 6
  • 135 lbs for 1 set of 8
  • 135 lbs for 1 set of 9

Shrugs w/ fat gripz

  • 135 lbs for 1 set of 10
  • 225 lbs for 1 set of 4
  • 225 lbs for 1 set of 2

Barbell Curls w/ fat gripz

  • 95 lbs for 2 sets of 8
  • 95 lbs for 1 set of 7

EYHB- just received these, never used them before

  • White for 1 set of 15

Squats

  • 135 lbs for 1 set of 5
  • 225 lbs for 1 set of 5
  • 315 lbs for 1 set of 10
  • 335 lbs for 1 set of 6
  • 315 for 1 set of 7

My technique is still bad. I taped them, some reps were close to parallel but most are an inch or two above. On top of that I think I'm still over arching my back. I need to work on keeping my abs tight. I love squats but I really need to learn to keep the weight lower until I master the technique.

I have videos of a GHP close (decent video quality)and the GM close (awful video quality). When I tried to upload them it said they are too big. Do I have to make a youtube account to post them or is there a loop hole that I don't know about?

Smashing it. You can do atleast 2-3 reps on it if you set it deeper. Paralell reps.

Thanks...I'm still learning the sets....was that wider than it would need to be for a cert?

Great video, dude. You devoured that ghp 6

Thanks, I don't know if it was the benching before or what but it felt good.

Squats

  • 225 lbs 2 sets of 10,
  • 225 lbs 1 set of 11
  • these were below parallel and my back did not hurt

Bending (IMP)

  • 1/4 inch by 7 in CRS- bent
  • 1/4 inch by 7 in CRS- bent
  • Pre kinked J DR (about 18 degree kink)- bent (video posting soon)
  • Pre kinked J DR (about 18 degree kink)- bent
  • L DR- missed (put about 15 degree wobble in it) (video posting soon)

I was out of J drill rod that was straight. I've never bent L in IMP's so I figured I would give it a go. Once I have my technique critiqued a little I think I am going to find something that is 7 in and would be sufficient for my strength level for volume (looking for maybe 6 bends a session)..........

HUB (hockey puck)

  • 25 lbs 1 set of 3
  • 30 lbs 1 set of 3
  • 30 lbs 1 set of 3, 1 set of 1, 1 set of 1
  • 25 lbs 5 sets of 5

TTK

  • 10 lbs 1 set of 10
  • 15 lbs 3 sets of 10
  • 20 lbs 3 sets of 5

Looks like a well rounded workout. I need to try to balance mine out. Great work.

Thanks. I am still trying to iron mine out as far as when to do what. Right now I'm kind of working a certain muscle group when I feel it has recovered. I'm schedule oriented so I would like to have a set in stone routine but we will see how it goes.

I wasn't supposed to bend tonight but knowing I missed that L the other night was eroding my soul. I'm still kind of bad with the videos so after I realized you couldn't really see the caliper I shot another video showing it...I was pretty happy with this bend...it was the second M I bent in the session and it felt pretty good...apparently squats right before I bend are key (that is why my hands are shaking...squats kill me)
