i don't think the term dictator should be thrown around at all.

first off all if this dust up has shown anything it's that the people running things respond to issues rather than ignoring them.

secondly almost all of the people involved with organizing things are either elected or volunteer.

there will be disagreements and just because you oppose something and it doesn't change in no way means that you were ignored or that your opinion isn't taken into consideration.

something else that has been raised in this thread is a comparison to other sports and rule changes during the "off season". grip doesn't have a season and therefore no off season. I 100% agree that last minute rule changes can't be allowed. However, often stuff doesn't come up until people start training for a specific comp. then they start having super specific rule questions that only arise when people are actually working on comp lifts. When this happens sometimes a rule clarification comes out. I've been involved in a number of rules discussion behind the scenes and they take forever because we want the rules to be as brief and clear as possible but, we also have to account for the fact that if there's anyway for people to misinterpret them, they will. not that people are trying to cheat, it's just that we all read rules differently and aim for the biggest lifts. And I have never witnessed people changing rules to keep others from lifting bigger or to help themselves.

Chris, I tried to link the topic but for some reason it wasn't working. Any thread will do, as per Bill's suggestion.

This post was supposed to include I quote, I see that isn't working for me right now either.

This is a great post. Along with your other observation that the GripBoard is different than the sport and so on.

Has this thread been created and pinned somewhere as yet, even as a place holder? I'm guessing someone in the "Group" would have to be the one to keep it updated as, obviously, no one else is going to know what has been discussed.
