Shallow 35 Lb Plate Hub

Frank Pizzo

Recommended Posts

Ok, so last summer I was just starting out training with the IronMind hub and had posted a video of me hubbing a shallow 25 lb plate. Last weekend I was going through my YouTube page and re-watched the video and decided to give a 35 and 45 a try this morning. I managed a pretty solid lift with the 35 and I'm pretty dang happy with it. The 45 didn't leave the ground for more than a split second, so I'll have to work on that in the future.

The hub dimensions are: depth: 3/4", and width: 5"

Here is the vid, and as always, thanks for checking out my stuff.

I have one of these plates, too. The shallowness and width of the hub makes a big difference. How much does this one weigh. I have one that is like 33ish lbs and the other two are a little over 35. I will be pumped when I can pick up my CAP 45lbs plate.

I have never weighed any of my plates on a postal scale, but I just weighed my 2 35's on my digital scale since you asked and one came in at 35.2 and the one I lifted in the video came in at 35.0, but of course without weighing on a calibrated scale it's still not for sure.

Yeah, hubbing the 45 will be nice when it happens! last year when I posted the 25's Zach Jacobs made the 45's sound unliftable by anyone other than himself and a select few, but I'm optimistic one will go for me at some point....as long as I lay off the bending lol.

Thanks brother.

Well done Mr. Pizzo! I try to hub my Cap 35s from time to time. I can't manage a full lift with my left yet.

Nice job Frank,

I used to train the wide shallow hub as I've never seen the shallow hubs until I went stateside for a comp. Well done!!!!!
