Crushed To Dust Race

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, this is a race for completing the three challenges with video proof. My understanding is that you can only certify through IM in competition but for this race the video is sufficient. The same rules apply as with the actual certification. Anyone can join and post his progress here. Cheers.

Suppose there will be lots of RT and hub videos on here as the gripper part of it seems pretty straightforward!

Out of curiosity, how fast away is everybody from the RT requirement?

I could eat the hub and gripper for breakfast, but my best RT is 135lbs.

I'm in the same boat, I can hit the gripper and hub with a beer in the other hand but the Rolling Thunder. Not not even close. I have to train crushers for King Kong and the Backyard bash anyway it would be interesting to see the carryover.

I got the hub and gripper down also, but it might take me a while for my RT numbers to get up there

This should make my thick bar training more interesting. I am in. Hub and gripper are easy but need about 10kg more to rolling thunder.

The nice thing with this challenge is that it allows people at different levels to take part. If you can't CCS a no 2 gripper yet then you should totally join the race. I assume the hub to be the next more difficult challenge for many people but I know it's not always the case. I'd love to hear from those who can lift 200# on the RT how exactly they trained for it. I've never tried a rolling thunder, I only have a 3inch rolling handle and can only lift 85 pounds on that. Waiting for 2.5 crusher in the mail and an RB 60mm which is supposed to be as thick as a rolling thunder.

What I've seen is the Crusher will be about 30 less than the Rolling Thunder.

I always found this challange a bit strange. Isn't the gripper part very easy compared to the other two, at least the RT? I mean, closing the #2 with CCS is not a huge feat but pulling 90 KG's with the new RT-handle is really, really difficult.

I'm not joining the race at this point, can only pull 70 KG's so 90 KG's is probably too far away for me right now.

I don't know about the pinch hub though, how difficult is that part really? Like the gripper or the RT or somewhere in between?

I would call it easier than the #2 CCS.

Hub: 5/10

#2: 6/10

RT: 9/10

I'd be game...I currently have pulled 188# on the RT and can easily perform the other two with both hands. So with some isolated focus on the RT I may be able to get there by Sept.

I agree. the only hard part for me is the RT i'm stuck on 75Kg and that has not increased much in the last 6 months despite going up 20lbs in grippers.

this shows as most videos i've seen people have to put effort in on the RT but just pick up the gripper and slam it shut with no effort....

I'm in.

I'm in the same position as almost everyone who has posted. I could do the #2 and the hub in a moving party bus while someone was spraying me with a garden hose.

But Rolling Thunder..? I'm SO. FAR. OFF. My all time max is like 140#.

In a lot of ways, this is basically a Rolling Thunder race to 200. :)

I don't believe you. I am going to need to see video from said party bus to prove it!

you guys are funny.

I didn't realize how difficult the RT 200 lift is, but let's see who gets it first! Couple guys here seem to be relatively close. I'm probably like 100 pounds away lol

Great idea, just recently got my RT and Hub but need to chalk them and season them but the hub won't hold chalk, any ideas what to do?

Can close a #2 CCS no probs and recently pulled #148 on the RT so a long way off and the hub without chalk pulled #24 but the texture is too smooth.

Yes, sell it and buy an older version. New hubs don't hold chalk well at all

Try to chalk like John McCarter. Works fine for my hub that is bit over year old.

How much more difficult is the new RT handle compared to the old one?

Wasn't the criterias for this challange set with the old version? Maybe thats why the RT is so far off from the other two?

What is the difference between the 2? Anyone have photos to compare?
