Noticed the bending section has been quiet recently so I filmed today's bend!

Tricep power has definitely improved from heavy bench and weight gain, making this reasonably easy :D

Will order some more at 10" soon then try the 400kg@6" cal'd stock and try it at 18".

Technique advice welcome as I've just started braced bending :D

Nice chest crush on that bar. I am by no means a great or even good bender.

The two things I would suggest are:

On the initial kink, place the bar higher on your leg toward your hip. Your first kink was sufficient enough to switch to a sweep/crush technique.

On the leg crush, you dont squeeze your legs together. Position the steel and bring your legs into a bowlegged stance then "stand up", straightening the legs.

All the best.

Thanks for watching! You are a much better bender than myself brother. The initial crush and the chest crush were the easiest parts, the other parts of the bend needs better technique.

I am new to braced bending so your point of using my legs more and putting the bar higher up on the initial kink will be very useful advice indeed.

Thanks for watching!

You're relying on your strength to muscle the bar. Instead use your body weight to move the bar. Keep your arms with a slight bend at the elbow. Next bounce on the bar don't lean into it or over it like you're doing. Try a smaller pad. The larger pads tend to absorbe a fair amount of power. Try watching some HS bending videos. Study the crush. See how the guys bounce into the shoe?

Solid advice EJ. Sounds alot easier the way you mentioned. I was trying to muscle it definitely. When I get some new stock I will definitely use bodyweight over muscling it!

Thanks for checking it out :D
