The 5th World's Strongest Hands

Saturday 1 August, 2015

Events:
1. Meat Hook Deadlift
2. Two Hands Pinch Lift
3. PickAxe Lever to Rear Lift
4. Stub – Hold

Also a stand-alone event, after the four events - One Hand Inch Replica Dumbbell Deadlift and hold (no tilt)

Classes:
Men’s: 66k, 83k, 105k, 105k+
Women’s: 72k, 72k+
Open class (includes all competitors)

Venue: All around the world.

Start: In the UK, 11am

Overall promoter: David Horne and World of Grip

Contest promoters:
David Horne – Stafford, England
If I have moved from Stafford, then the event will be relocated to a new venue.
Ivan Beritashvili - Moscow, Russia
Juha Harju - Kirkkonummi, Finland
Andrew Pantke & Dave Thornton – Three Rivers, Michigan, USA
Jarrod Riordan – Keilor East, Nr Melbourne, Australia
Jedd Johnson - Wyalusing, PA, USA
Eirik Bruun Ingebretsen - Norway
Eric Roussin – Ottawa, Canada
Jouni Mahonen - Iisalmi, Finland

Entrance fee: £20 GBP ($32 dollars, 25 euro)

Trophies: There will be medals for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each class

In addition, I had a question about the Stub hold. It says for time, so is that a prescribed weight for all competitors? Or do you choose a weight, then your total score comes from a combination of weight and time?

Thanks, I'm looking forward to (hopefully) attending this contest and meeting some other great athletes.

I misread the title as like "Hey, I didn't make the podium, but I have like the 5th strongest hands."

Why is there no 93k class?

David Horne typically switches up the weight classes from year to year for this event. i suspect this is done so that the same classes don't go unrepresented every year.

If there is that many locations then there should be a fairly good representation for every weight class....just my opinion but maybe there is a heavy number some classes versus others. Not a biggie just curious is all!

It's a good point...

The 93k & 105k classes are quickly becoming the most competitive classes. By not having one of them, you can really have a profound effect on lots of lifters' performances.

Totally agree with Luke and Jedd, all weight classes should always be included. It will always help promote the sport with the wide variety of classes.

I assume the problem is if there are too few competitors, everyone could be competing alone in their weight class.

I think event results should be sorted by their actual weight class regardless of how the competition was run, not sure if this is already how it works or not, just a thought.

Historically, not all the weight classes are held in this event. I believe David just picks one as a divider, but I don't remember what the selection process is.
