How To Transform Your Physique #241

The first half of this was great. I get shit from guys at work because I eat healthy. They call it rabbit food. I'll eat my chicken and rice, continue to get leaner and stronger and you keep eating your microwave dinners, donuts and Fritos. Enjoy the surge in sodium and saturated fats.

RIGHT ON BROTHER! :rock

I get crap at work too. Heck, that includes drinking water as well. I drink a gallon a day at work.

I don't drink that much. I gauge how much water I need on the color of my pee and if I feel like I'm carrying water.

I've transformed my body in the last 11 months. I look different, feel better and sleep better. Mentally I'm a different person which is huge for me. I take a look at the sickly looking over weight people eating garbage and I I think is, it's an epidemic.

My diet has always been good but not great. I'd still eat some garbage when I wanted. Now I don't want the garbage as much. Maybe once a month.

Yesterday a guy I was working with ordered 3 pan pizzas, probably 800-1000 calories each. I kinda just face palmed - these kids wonder why they fail pt tests!

Food has become an addiction and people ARE dying from this addiction too. I am pretty sure the reason we have to eat is for fueling the body and not for self gratification and pleasure.

Yes, this was a great video.

I'll admit that I am addicted to junk food, and I suffer for it. I lift 2-3 days a week, work a physical job, help raise 2 kids, etc, but I'm still overweight. And it's no doubt because of my diet. I work on the road so it's a lot of diners, fast food, and snack cakes. I also drink a lot of beer. My doctor described me as "overweight but fit."

I see it happen to a lot of guys. I was an athlete growing up, and the mentality is "Eat what you want, you'll burn it off!" The problem is that heyday only lasts a few years, and sometimes it's hard to adapt to a different life. It happened to my uncle. He was an all-state defensive lineman in high school, and got a scholarship to play college ball. He dropped out after a year, got a job on the railroad, and got married. And he still ate like an elite athlete, even though he spent the majority of his days sitting on his ass. I think he weighed 450 at his highest. That's up from a playing weight of around 250.

And like I said I've struggled. I weighed 220 when I graduated from high school 18 years ago and was in excellent shape. My peak weight was 309, January 2015. That's really embarrassing to write.

Between then and early summer this year I lost down to 270 through diet only. Started lifting again a few months ago and I've put 20 back on, which is standard for me. My long term goal is to increase strength and overall health, and decrease bodyfat.

Thank you for reminding me that diet is the missing puzzle piece, yet again.

The majority of people do not have the discipline to either eat well or exercise vigorously, let alone both. There are no magic pills and there is no way around hard work. Most people who work hard are usually deemed as being "blessed with good genetics" or "blessed with a fast metabolism" by those who are eating garbage, sitting on their duffs and doing zero to improve themselves. When I eat a head of lettuce like eating an apple, people often ask "how can you do that?" My answer is "how can't you?" It is amazing how many people will try to put someone down that takes care of his or herself.
