CCS grippers

All my grippers felt like bricks today still sore from my high volume day with 2 days off

I need at least 4 days in between when doing grippers. Preferably 5 or 6. I'm focusing on MMS blockset work in between the #3 and my max, so in the 163 range or so. Going to the end of 160, beginning 170 lbs range is a real hurdle.

I like to get 3 days off but this week it was either do it now or skip it, too busy Sunday.

I agree that is a tough range. From the time I closed a 3 to the time I closed a 180lb 3.5 was probably a year.

Thanks Frank. I'm really looking forward to the hub. It's one of my better events and I've never had it in a contest. You've been making great progress since the MI contest looking forward to competing with you again.

Did more CCS work but it was earlier in the day and I didn't write it down. Can't remember numbers now so I'll leave it out.

My max strength has dipped a bit as my rep strength has gone up . Odd.

I think it's maybe the wider set work. I am experiencing the same now. Wide work makes topcrush go down....so I am just focusing on getting better around 3.3 level at least. Keep it up good man. I think you will get your strength up soon enough for the whole range of #3's.

Geralt, I think you are right. My workout log from today will address why and what I'm going to do about it. Thanks for the advice.

CCS grippers

Worst CCS workout ever. The more I CCS and the less I train 20mm block set the worse my CCS gets. My sweep is stronger than ever but can't finish. So I will be changing my routine to 20mm block one day and CCS the other day.

Thanks for the heads up. I won't stop doing 20mm sets then.

My weight loss is starting to affect my strength. I was 260 the day after the MI grip comp in May. I have lost 20lbs now through a cleaner diet and running every night. Basically every lift is down a bit besides hub which actually keeps going up. I have a goal of under 230 by the second week of August which will be my 7th wedding anniversary. If I hit my goal it will be the lightest I have been since I have been married.

IM Little Big Horn 134 we were supposed to do vbar but Darrin broke it half way through so we switched. I desperately need to get an IM LBH to train for King Kong, it was my first time trying one but that's still a really bad lift.

Got a 135 GHP6 from board member Anthony151 rated by Matt Cannon. Crazy sweep compared to Ironmind. From a block set it's eaiser than my 140#3 but from a CCS or TNS it's as hard.

There ya go. Chez also mentioned this and my (limited) experience is the same, that GHP's seem to have a tougher sweep. I have this Ghp7 @155 which feels much harder than it's rating. Halfway up it binds up much more than my 4 COC#3's. I got a 137 BBGM recently and although it has a smaller spread than a COC it also ramps up sooner in the sweep. I think 137 is a nice working gripper by the way, for workingsets in my 80-85% range.
